I registered Coldstone then compiled the little game automaticly created when you create a new game for windows for a friend to see how powerfull is Coldstone
But it didn't work...
When he started the game, the 'do you want to play in fullscreen mode' appears, then the main screen, he choises start a new game, everything load up correctly, and when the play screen appears (Where the character is at the entrance of the village, an error box pops up and : Unhandled exception c00000094 at address 0041730e
Then the game quits...
What is happening ? Any of you already succed playing this game with a pc ??
------------------ Greetings, all-powerful archmage! Finally, you have done it again, as it should have been so many years ago, the archmage powerful enough to gain possession of the ultimate spell. Armageddon is a powerful and frightening spell, as devastating to yourself as to mankind. You will no longer be eligible to receive protection from the council. From now on, you are on your own. Good luck, and may your powers be with you.
Have you tried to compile in release mode with the "Compress pictures" option checked? Also, does your friend have DirectX8 and Quicktime installed?

Doesn't have directX8... I'm gonna check that out... thx
I've been having the same troubles. I have the latest version of Direct X and QuickTime. I've tried it on 3 diffrent machines. One with 98 SE, one with XP and one with 2000. They all have this problem. What could it be. I've trying the demo without any modifications.

OK. I have one bad news and two good news for you. The bad news is that it's indeed a bug and there is nothing you can do about it. The good news is that we have fixed it and it will be in the next rev. due very, very soon.

So there is no way at all I can make my game run in Windows until the release of the update. So how about a date rather than very, very soon. I've already purchased Coldstone and that was what I was hoping for.

Dee posted the following in another thread today(February 28th, 2002):
However, I'm taking this problem very seriously and I'll do further testing with the new (all shiny) OSX version of Coldstone I have here. Before anyone asks "when is it coming out?", let me say that the update will probably go to the testers tomorrow and if everything goes well, should be available shortly after.
I highly doubt Dee or anyone else will post a release date for 1 good reason: they don't know for sure. They have been working on the bug reports that have been reported and have a patch nearing completion. They will give this to the testers so that they can check it out first for problems. If none are found it will be distributed to us. This is done so that they do not release a patch which creates a worse problem for the rest of us.
So anyhow with luck sometime this weekend or next week.

Well that sounds good to me. I can't wait.
