Music question

Notice I'm spending a lot of time with sounds a music? Hrm... Guess that's just my forte... (ba-dum ching). Lame puns aside I have a serious question. This likely won't be an issue for games with all-origional sountracks, but I doubt that all the games we see will have that. To see if something would work I put a random MP3 I have into the music folder and changed that to play at the startup screen of the little demo. It plays nice and all, but is kind of quiet, especially when compared to the other music in the game and the sound effects. I notice that the game sets the volume to 30% at the start... Is that, uh.. normal? I intend to play around on Finale 2002 (when I get my copy) and make some music for Coldstone (maybe put some freebies up on here for general use or work with someone who wants an origional score), and I don't want to make it too soft for the "standard" sound effects and music levels. Any answers out there?

Why not just increase the 30% statistic?

Then the other music that came with it is gonna blast the far wall over and make my ears bleed. 😉 I thought about moving it up for the intro, then down when you leave it.. not sure how to do that yet... Will play with where to put the volume event.
