Custom Sounds Don't Play

I went to add a custom sound from the AFX WildBeast V1 soundSet to my PoG plug-in. I copied the desired sound to the Sound folder in my plug-in folder. Added the Play Sound event and chose the custom sound. However, the sound will not play in either Coldstone or when playing PoG with my plug-in active. If I use one of the default sounds everything works fine.

What format do sounds have to be in for Coldstone to recognize it?

I know the manual says AIFF sound format with IMA encoding and mono channel. I used SoundApp to check the format of the sound and it was AIFF with linear (PCM) encoding 8-bit mono.

I thought that might be the problem so I used SoundApp to convert the sound to AIFF with IMA encoding mono. But the sound still wouldn't play.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get custom sounds to play?

You did the right thing, but perhaps you forgot to add the ".aiff" extension to the sound file? Extensions are very important in Coldstone.

I had the .aif extension on the files and they didn't work; however, when I changed it to .aiff they worked fine.

There needs to be an addendum to the manual and/or the tutorial.

Are there any other extension issues, such as .pct vs .pict; .jpg vs .jpeg; .mpg vs .mpeg; that we need to be aware of?
