I've just approved a file with quite a range of animal sounds -- if any of y'all would like to include some, the author notes that he only requires that you list him in credits.

Also if anyone is looking for a good variety of sounds, music loops or the like, you can check out Flashkit.com. It's got alot of different stuff in their archives meant mostly for Flash development, but all their sounds can be downloaded as .aiff or .mp3 formats, all of which are free to use, and most you can use without adding anything to the credits. Worth the time searching through their archives...

That would be so much better if the original uploader would take the time to add a description to the file, or perhaps the approver could take the time to add a description such as "A file with quite a range of animal sounds -- if any of y'all would like to include some, the author notes that he only requires that you list him in credits." ;).

Why not make a description obligatory, like they did with Duke Nukem 3D userlevels where there was always a simpletext read me file included with the download. That was a standard file with headings like author, kind of file, userart/sounds or not, description of the story, some spoilers, thanks to, etc etc. You could easily select the read me in your browser, to read it before starting the download. There might just be a wave of Coldstone games/plugins/art-soundfiles etc. coming soon, it would make things a lot easier. Just a suggestion
