Hey, I saw you had something about a text-based game in one of these posts. Do you know how to set one up in C++? I have gotten a decent system worked out for my very limited knowledge. Actually, I guess I just need to know how to get it to always ask for input. If anybody knows please tell me.

Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans. - Douglass Adams
Unfortunatly, I just play the games. I once thought about creating a text game in Hypercard, but then my HD got trashed and I couldn't be bothered to install Hypercard again. If I were you, I'd talk to (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubbmisc.cgi?action=getbio&UserName;=blackhole")blackhole(/url) they seem to know quite a lot about programming, they might be able to help you.

There are specialized programming languages for writing text adventures, like TADS (text adventure authoring system) and another one whose name I forget. They're cross-platform and everything. Do a search under TADS or Interactive Fiction or something along those lines. Unless, of course, you want to write your own from scratch as an excercise in C++ programming.

I do remember reading about that in the about box on a few of the text based games I was playing. I think it's Text Adventure Development System, otherwise it would be TAAS.
I just did a search for TADS and found the official site. (url="http://"http://www.tela.bc.ca/tela/tads/")Here it is.(/url)
Thanks alot, although I will probably at least do one on my own to increase my understanding and skills, etc.
