Game "Structure"

In my game I want it to be possible to play on several very different "scales". For instance I was wondering if it will be possible to have parts of my game be fought/explored on the ground and other parts be say in space. Also, I know this is possible but I was wondering if the player can trigger this change of scenery and physics.

Another question: If this is possible it will also be equally possible to change the players graphics if they go into another set of scenery? Can items change the way a player looks?

Scenery: Almost certainly.
Physics: Possibly, though more likely than not you would only be able to create the illusion.
Appearance of Hero: Probably.

This probably wasn't too helpful, but I figured I'd try anyhow.

from what I've heard, you can set events to trigger a change in most of the graphics on screen, and you can link events to almost anything in the game. Someone asked a question like this a long time ago, and the answer was 'yes,' as I remember things.

Thanks guys.
