PAY?? Whoa whoa whoa..backup a little

Im just a little concerned with someting in the last post, The subject of 'Will we have to pay for CS' appeared......now don't get me wrong, I pay for things..games, food etc. But what attracted me and rose above the rest of the so called 'DIY-RPGS' was the fact that 1.It had 32 bit graphics
2.It was super-user friendly
3.it was FREE!

Now I would get pissed if something was lookin really good and they wave it in front of my face with all these great features then they say 'Oh no you gotta pay!'
If they set out to make money of CS, then they should at least state it....Plz
And if you were to set out to make a product in which we would have to pay, I have no doubt that it would be a fantastic product...

Yes my frige is running..why?, oh OH MY GOD ITS ESCAPED AGAIN!

Coldstone has ALWAYS been a shareware level product, meaning that you must "pay to play". I don't know what you were expecting, but a free ride is not gonna happen. Why would they give away such a powerful tool? And then, on top of that, make the games created by it liscenced for public and private commercial distribution? C'mon now. You can't be serious.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
I'll sacrifice my single Karma Point (if need be) to yell at all of you people that are complaining about paying for CS!!

Does anybody express suprise, or complain when Ambrosia asks for money for games?! Coldstone is no different, in fact I'll echo saphire by saying that CS is probably gonna be worth a lot more than AS will be selling it for! Given that its a flexible, full-featured creation tool, that includes the option of Liscensing your own software!!!

Its like wondering why Photoshop isn't free, or food, or gas, or....

and to top it off, unlike those things, CS is gonna let you try it before you buy it.

Has't ambrosia always made shareware products/ why would they all of a sdden stop now and decide to lose money so they can't put out more great products? that woud seem like kind of a waste to me.....

and I'm not one to complain about shareware either (especially ambrosia, every game I have by them is totally worth the 25 bucks or so ya gotta shell out), if a product's good, you should pay for it to support the company so they can continue to develop.

A self important human once said "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" but in the case of the (rocket launcher) you have one majorly explosive cigar!

While I would love to turn this into a discussion about production economics in what could become a post-survival economy, this isn't the place and I don't have the time anyway.

What I will say is that anyone who creates something out of their own desire and is not independantly wealthy eventually has to deal with the money issue. Neither Ambrosia or the Beenox crew are exempt from the first law of survival in a capitalist society. Don't complain about it.

Further discussion on the topic is pointless.
