I think it would be great if either a team of developers collaborated on this project or the engine was open-source so that anyone could develop these - expansion packs for the Coldstone Editor.
Instead of releasing updates, you could have specific (free) expansion packs specifically tailored to a particular use, such as the ability to implement turn-based combat, or allow for other features Coldstone may have sacrificed during launch, giving customers the ability to customize their editor and create quality games to their heart's content.

Unfortunately, while this is a good idea, it isn't quite as simple as you might think. It would take a significant engineering effort just to come up with a plugin framework that would allow programmers to access enough of Coldstone's code to be useful.
