Since there's already a "write down your weapon ideas" and a "write down your characters", why not write down your spells?
Here's mine, Kamakase: The equivalent of "takedown". If your character has enough hit points, you can cast kamakase, which drains 1 ht point per 5 ht points you take of the enem(y/ies).

I've always wanted to make a spell that summons the can-opener of doom upon your enemies. The spell itself has no direct effect - the swarm of ravenous cats it summons does.
Alas, the RPG I have planned is a bit too serious for that...
------------------ (Insert Signature Here)
yeah... damn seriousness. If I weren't planning a serious game, I'd certainly have a spell entitled "Call of the Llama," in which you would make a low, gutteral clicking noise towards the heavens. after a bit of rumbling and shaking and such, a dromedary of massive proportions would stride briskly onscreen and then proceed to hawk a loogie onto your oponent. doesn't do much damage, but the humiliation it infilcts upon your enemy causes his defense rating to drop to 0.

How about a spell that summons the killer swarm of chickens from Zelda?
Hehe, most of these comical ideas will be up for sale soon enough...
I'm thinking a spell that makes a Mac appear, causing the victim to sit and play, stunning it and making it susceptable (sp?) to heavy damage.
------------------ -TheDarkDragon We beat the snot out of 'em. It's a technical term. -The Tilford Family
some spells from my game is......
Vengeance-all of the damage you have sustained in the past hour is dealt to an enemy of your choice, this does not heal you.
Runes of Serpents-creates magical writings on the ground. when an enemy walks on these writings or casts a "Trigger" spell the runes will summon forth several snakes. The snakes are venomous, and remain in existence for 30 seconds, and cannot leave the immediate area of the runes.
Rothe's Cataclysmic Orb- the caster holds out one hand. a sphere of glowing light will appear, and steadily enlarge(surrounding the caster), until the caster moves his hand, or the spell reaches its limit(unknown). All creatures that enter the sphere other than the caster will take a lot of damage{lightning damage} and after a couple of seconds will be shot out of the sphere and knocked unconscious. This is a very powerful spell, and was only cast once, whereupon it destroyed the entire city of Sharastdale. this spell requires great amounts of concentration, and takes a long time for the caster to finish the initial casting(the time before the sphere starts to appear).
------------------ "Time is unimportant.. to one such as I.."
Hee hee. Making killer spells is fun... What about a spell that summons a giant unstable Pentium IIII, causing all the enemies to gasp in horror and fall writhing to the ground? I guess that's a bit radical
Is it possible to make the Boomerang spell from Ferazel's Wand? Also: Energy Beam: Creates a beam of energy that goes through enemies. Useful against anyone stupid enough to line up in front of you.
Freeze: Freezes the enemy in a block of ice, which melts after a while.
Energy Whip: Creates a lash of energy that damages the enemy and drags them towards you. (A bit like Tyrael's wing attacks in one of the Diablo II cinematics)
Elemental Shield (Fire, Lightning, Ice, or Force): Raises your AC and resistance to the opposed element (Force shield raises resistance to air-based attacks), and damages enemies when they hit you.
Chain Lightning: I assume everyone knows what this does, I was just wondering whether it could be done in Coldstone.
Mage Blade: See the topic about new weapons.
Shockwave: Creates a circular blast traveling outward from the caster.
Implode/Explode: pretty similar spells, one makes the target burst, the other crushes it.
How about a spell that summons flying DVDs that smash into an enemy and each do 2-3 damage when they hit. The ting is, however, that the spell summons up to 25 DVDs. The DVDs can easily miss a moving target and shatter on the ground rather that thier target. hehehe... Or maybe one where it rains external Hard drives that explode in a great looking puff of sparks! Not the good looking ExHDs, but the REALLY ugly ones like the one I use. Cords attached!
------------------ Mouse's law: If you try to make a topic to spam in, you lose karma.
This one acts as a curse:
Windows Manual: Places the unholy Microsoft curse on its reader, causing him/her to lose sanity until a Mac OS Rebuild has been performed.
And a more serious one:
Nil Halo Ritual: The dark priests of Nil Halo can perform a ritual that allows the brain to ignore all form of damage dealt to their body, thus allowing them to fight without even noticing that they are being hit by others. This ritual is usually performed on Nil Halo berserks before they enter battle.

Those of us making serious games can add the silly spells as easter eggs. Like if they enter some kind of cheat code, they learn the spell, but if they enter the code again, they lose the spell. Heres some more silly ones: Clorox bomb - You take a minute to mix volatule(sp?) chemicals in a bottle of Clorox bleach, then quickly throw it to have it explode in a burst of corrosive acidic goo! Bad Back - Drops a two-ton box into the target's arms, causing them to perminatly damage thier spine. Beware, the box NEVER dissapears, so be carful not to use this spell on a narrow pathway. Secret: The box has a Microsoft PC in it. This spell can be used to make a wall for cover. BiC gun - A magical gun that shoots BiC brand pens. The weapon dissapears after a minute, but while it is here, it can fire as much as you want. Each pen does 3 damage, plus 1 damage every 15 seconds if it sticks into the victim. Beaver & Bithead - Summons the vile pair from the underworld of crappy cartoons. Beaver stands in one place and throws large balls of mucus that slow down enemies, and he only moves when he can't get a direct path to any enemies. Bithead attacks with a Microsoft keyboard, smashing it over enemies' heads. If the keyboard breaks(25% chance), Bithead just pulls out another. Only one of each character can be in the real world at a time, so casting the spell while both are still alive is a waste of mana. When one dies, he fades back into his own hell, rather than leaving a body.
------------------ Cotton Mouse to Mouse: Where do you want me to set up a topic in? Mouse to Cotton Mouse: EV b&b.; Cotton Mouse to Mouse: Ok. When?
More(!) sillies: | Taco Rain - Creates a cloud that raind tacos for almost a minute. Each taco does 1-3 damage, and causes the victim to stop for a moment and clean him/herself. | Stonebutt - Two giant stones fall from the heavens, cruching anyone unlucky enough to get caught underneath. After about 30 seconds, the rocks explode into fragments of stone, each doing 1-4 damage when they hit.
Circle of Binding- The caster selects an area, and all enemies within that area cannot leave without magical assistance until 30 seconds +2 seconds per experience level have passed. The caster may have the ability to move the circle, and forcing the enemies within to move with it.
Halo of Flame- This spell creates an item to fill the "helmet" spot in the inventory. A halo of fire appears, and grants the wearer these enchantments: Doubled Fire Resistance...+20 HP and MP.... +Special Ability: Assume Form:Fire Elemental... The Halo of Flame will disappear after several hours have elapsed.
Summon Guardian: A creature of great strength(weak then medium then great then incredible) is created, often a creature of the Spectral variety. The creature will protect the summoner with its life.
Ethereal Migration: All creatures nearby will be brought to a "Sanctuary" or separate plane. Spell casting is impossible here, and all magical weapons are unusable. After several minutes have elapsed, everyone will be sent back to the Focus Plane, where they are from originally.
Flute of Sacrifice: This spell creates a magical wooden flute. If the caster plays it, a swirling wind will encompass the area. If any enemies do any damage to anyone while the caster plays the song the damage will also be done to them, with a 25% chance of instantly killing them.
Catastrophic Sphere- A sphere of red light is shot at the target. When the sphere collides with something, darkness fills the area, and bolts of lightning will rain from the sky, damaging anyone who enters the swirling tempest.
Temporary Wisdom- The caster becomes very wise, seeing things as they really are. All invisible, ethereal, or spectral opponents become visible, and suffer lightning damage. All illusions are forced to work for the benefit of the caster, and all summoned creatures instantly disappear(friendly or not).
Falsen- The caster chooses a target, and several copies of the target appear, attacking the foes of the caster. These copies cannot actually harm anything. The target has a 50% chance of going completely insane unless they are a spellcaster of some sort.
Magical Aid/Cancellation- This is the cure-all spell. Removing paralysis, cancelling enemy magics, restoring insanity, confusion, etc... this spell is a necessity to any adventurer.
| Starburst - A ball of light is thrown, and when it hits, it explodes in a burst of smaller lights, each doing 5-7 damage to any enemy hit, unless the enemy has at least a +12 goodness rating(-15 to +15, determines how good/evil creatures are). | Easter Egg - A giant egg falls onto an enemy, instantly killing them(exept sub/bosses). The egg then hatches, releasing the dreaded Eastern bunny. This bunny spits base-balls at enemies, as well as jumping around, crushing pretty much everything(including trees) in its path. The bunny fades back to the void after about 3 minutes. This spell is an eater egg/bonus spell. | Dink - This spell temporarily turns you into Dink(Link, from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time). Dink has a powerful Sword and a strong, sturdy shield. Dink also has the ability to put off a wave of fire in all directions for 6 mana(a lot) that does 25 damage(a lot). When you are Dink, you can only cast one spell; 'Dink.' Cast this spell(free) to return to your normal state, allowing you to cast other spells. This spell is an Easter Egg.bonus spell. | Power Blade - Makes any edged weapons you are wielding become empowered for about 45 seconds. This will make them 1.5 times as powerful, as well as making your recoil(after attack) time lower. This does not affect pole weapons, bashing weapons, wands, or ather items. | Ethereal - This spell makes you and everything you are holding go into the ethereal plane, or returns you to the real plane. While ethereal, you can pass through real walls, but not ethereal walls. You can also damage ethereal enemies. If you have weapons that normally damage ethereal from the real plane, they now damage real from the ethereal plane. You will be returned to the real plane after three minutes. If you are in a solid object when you renter the real plane, you die. Be careful.

Heres a serious spell, I don't know if i'll use it, it doesn't at all fit with the feel of my game, so feel free to take it for your own game, if you so desire.
Matyr's forfillment: For the duration of this spell, all damage taken by the caster is double, but the caster also gains an amount of spell points depending on his or her level, the weaker the spell caster, the worse the ratio of damage to spell points gained.

::the apparition removes a page from his spell book:: My game is based in a northern frozen urban land, (i.e. Chicago in Mid-January) I'll have a summon spell in which you bring,me into action acting as a temporary,assailant...I love cameos ...I'll use all my intro's,
(ice brittleness, solidifying with ice, avalanches, yeti's,Snowball's,Aurora borealis,"Glacial Flows", tectonic plate shifting, Liquid Nitro)
randomly, to give my summon spell a unique personality, (I'll be a temporary teammate/genie of the lamp/kind of like Summoner's system)
Imagine the Chill fighting on your side, indeed... So Says The Chill!
------------------ -4,-3,-2, am I becoming a good guy???
I'm also making an appearance in my game, although as a devious wizard that can be a trusted party member(if they are allowed.. if not I intend to make an HQ(headquarters where they live) for my characters, and you get to play as each one and move to the next and so on). Just to poke fun at my allergy to cats, the character Lorenoth will eventually be transformed into a cat. I mean, what could be more fun than a lazy hissing wizard?
Well anyways I'll add another few spells to the topic...(this is the part I editted)
Feedback-all enemies in a huge radius around the caster who have any enchantments placed on them, or who have done any damage to any unit, will take 10-15 lightning damage.
Petal of Lavender* Barrier- the caster of this powerful spell gains immunity to poison based attacks, and cannot be affected by spells(friendly or not) for the duration of the enchantment. This spell cannot be removed using a Magic Cancellation spell.
Lunar Strike- this spell does 1-100 lightning damage to selected target, and can only be used in darkness. If this spell hits a Werewolf, the Werewolf will either die instantly, or be paralyzed. If this spell hits an Undead unit however, the unit is healed for however many points of damage the spell would have normally done.
Solar Strike- this spell does 1-100 fire damage to selected target, and can only be used in the light. If this spell hits any undead unit will take triple damage plus an additional 20 lightning damage. If this spell hits any fire based creature(fire elemental, flame scourge, etc) then the creature gains temporary invulnerability and takes no damage from the spell.
Temporary Death- the target of this spell disappears from existence for 2 seconds per level of the caster. Once the duration has expired, the target will return, unharmed.
Monolith(azure, opal, ruby, or viridian)- this spell creates a grim tower of stone. The tower will shoot bolts of lightning if it is opal, bolts of ice if it is azure, fire if ruby, and poison if viridian, at all nearby enemies. The Monolith can be destroyed, but has high resistance to whatever element it represents(Ruby monoliths resist fire attacks).
Glare of Drakes- the target of this spell takes a small amount of ice damage, as well as having a 20% chance of falling dead. The target will be slowed down to half of normal speed, and be extremely susceptible to poison and disease. The caster of this spell gains a small bit of resistance to fire spells after casting this spell.
