OK maybe all of you guys know but i don't How do you make quicktime movies. I hear all this about Quicktime but i don't know what the hell to do?
------------------ Yes my frige is running..why?, oh OH MY GOD ITS ESCAPED AGAIN!
OK mkaing a quicktime movie is quite complicated. I assume you mean a cut scene similar to the ones in FF7, and not like the PoG movie (reffering to your other post). First, you must create the scene and animate it in a 3D programme such as (url="http://"http://www.hash.com")Animation Master(/url) or (url="http://"http://www.lightwave6.com")Lightwave(/url). Then, you render it, which depending on your computer spec would take quite a long time, and then you should have a movie sitting on your desktop. However, it's not as simple as it seems, to create a good looking movie is hard in any 3D programme, unless your a master at it.

well, really you could go on all day (and night, and a few semesters of college) talking about how to make a 3D cutscene. There are whole sections of bookstores devoted to this sort of thing.
Brent: make your question a little more specific. It's a fine question to ask -- nothing wrong with not being a cinematics expert, but I think you're asking about a topic that's a little too general. narrow it down, and maybe one of us can answer it for you.

Note to self: Hit sanehatter with a big rock and kidnap him. Maybe I'll lock him in a room and force him to make me cut scenes 24/7. Seriously though, sanehatter is probably the best one to ask if you have a graphics/sound related question.

To make a 'cut scene' all you need is any animation program that can render to any of the supported files types Quicktime can play.
From my experiance .mov files aren't too good. They don't have a good compression and do some funky things whe you try to edit them. AVI files are fairly good. (Not the best for full screen) MPG or MPEG files look real pretty and nice in full screen. But the keyframing in MPEGs is funky and sometimes program like Premeire don't like them.
To make the animation you need to learn how to animate. There's no easy way out of that. I use 3D Studio Max R3.1 and now R4 If you want 2D which I doubt you do. There's always Animator Pro.
What I usually end up doing it making the scenes in Max (uncompressd avi files) and bringing them into Premeire do the editing w/ sound and exporting them with a DivX codec. Has GREAT compression and good quality. (url="http://"http://www.projectmayo.com/")http://www.projectmayo.com/(/url) <---DivX Codec I'm not sure if Quicktime supports DivX but there are other good MPEG4 codecs out there.

Har har har har har...
the only thing I can suggest is leaving out the cutscenes and using in game graphics, we all know how much larger the game gets when movies and Sh** get bundled with the software...
just take control of the character trigger some dialog and if possibel animate some motions, and lo and behold you have a cheap, small(non mindblowing) animation...

Ok Sanehetter is right (wondering if spelt name right) Anyway I think i would like to do a cutscene like NOX..you know when ya walk into town and the guy kills somebody..can you do that????
I'm still alive...well, I guess I'll answer this question as part of my bizarre dark daily ritual...
The creation of a QuickTime file can be done in any program that can write to one. I would recommend QuickTime Pro, as it is cheap and it is good. In QT Pro, you can add effects, cut, copy, paste scenes. You can also do something that's kind of like a bluescreen effect.
Unfortunately, QuickTime Pro cannot actually CREATE any media, it is just useful for editing and saving into whatever format you choose.

Cheap, as compared to what? if anyone has that much money to throw around everywhere, please, by all means, send some my way. Perhaps you should mention that it is cheap compared to other video editing software. QuickTime Pro can set you back a few bills.

if you know how to make animated gifs you can open those in quicktime pro and save as a quicktime movie.
