Game Development

Although this has nothing to do with Coldstone, I thought it would be of interest to most of the frequenters of this board. The article is at Inside Mac Games and is about Game Development and MetroWorks new website. Both are extremely good resources, the Codewarrior site in particular, especially if you want to go onto more game developing after Coldstone such as myself.

Here's the first link to the IMG article: (url="http://"http://www.imgmagazine.com/features/00/developer/p2.shtml")Who Wants to be a Game Developer?(/url)
And here's the second to the CodeWarriorU site: (url="http://"http://www.codewarriorU.com")CodeWarriorU.com(/url)

it always comes down to learning c/c++
or some bastard version of the them
there's no escping it
you might as well learn C
I suggest 'codewarrior discover programming edition:Mac'
its about a grip, and it includes 6/7 books

or you can learn real bassic,

but until then, Coldstone is cold.

Even skilled programmers are unlikely to be able to finish writing a full-fledged RPG engine on their own. Programming isn't easy, and finishing a project is orders of magnitude harder still.

Don't underestimate the task you're undertaking by attempting to write your own RPG engine.

don't worry about it man -- they're just talking about if you felt inclined to go out and make your own RPG game engine from the ground up. you will require absolutely no knowledge of c/c++ to run coldstone and make your games (although a little knowledge of programming can go a long way, no matter what you're doing...)

Hehe, sorry, I can see how that might have been misunderstood. 🙂 As jmitchell said, Coldstone requires you to be an expert at C++. Only kidding, you don't need any programming experience. 😛
