Various RPGs

I'm just wondering what some of the RPGs I haven't played out there are like. I'll make a bit of a list of the ones I want descriptions of:

Baldurs Gate
Fallout / Fallout 2
Deus Ex

I've already played FF7, 8. Oh, and Mystic Quest. But I think some people would like to hear about them too. Thanx.

Baldur's Gate is the typical AD&D; RPG(or D&D; I really don't know). Your main character turns out to be the spawn of the God of murder, Bhaal, and Sarevok(the guy who kills the old guy in the beginning) is also a spawn of that god. Sarevok kinda has 2 plans.

  1. He can start a war with the country Amn, causing so huge a massacre that it would satisfy the "dormant" Bhaal and turn Sarevok into Bhaal somehow.
  2. He can kill all the other spawn of Bhaal and then his ascension into Godhood is assured.

It can be a turn based game, if you press the space bar to assign commands.
It's a big game, 5 CD's.
It's fun, but not very hard(except one part, the thief warrens. It took me hours to beat that group of 2 skeleton warriors, summoning monsters didn't help cuz there wasn't enough room)
If you don't use the space bar function you'll end up hating "that gosh dang game".

Um that's pretty much it. And this has to do with Coldstone because we're learning from other peoples' mistakes etc.... heehee

It's AD&D;, because it's set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting (it's the second most popular, I believe). And I wouldn't say that there is any specific type of AD&D; RPG, there are large differences between most of them.

Yeah, the most popular is Dragonlance. I've read some Forgotten Realms books and, to me, it just seemed like a crappy Dragonlance rip-off. They didn't do as good of a job at building the world (Faerun, I think is its name) as the people who developed Krynn for Dragonlance did. There was very little mention of the gods, and most of the storyline was ripped right from Tolkien. I was a bit disappointed with Forgotten Realms, so that's probably one of the reasons that I never played Baldur's Gate...

I have to say that the Chill is right (they seem to be making a concerted effort to stay on target recently); there are other places for this type of discussion.
