The last time I used hotline, it had that capability
-cybergnu
------------------ "The Gnuey Boy"
Well, glueBubble's going to be hosting if he can, so it's not like we can control him....
I think thats good..chat on hotline and message board on web....how do you get multiple people in the same chat in hotline btw?
------------------ Armorments, chapter two, verses 9 to 21- And Saint Atilla raised the hand grenade up on high saying, "O lord, bless this thine hand grenade, that with it thou may blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloaths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats....."

I think its automatic, you join the server's chatroom....
How about instead of Hotline we have a IRC room? We could incorporate jIRC into the page so you can chat with other people who are browsing the page at the same time. We can eliminate the entire Hotline aspect outright. That way we don't have to find someone willing to have the computer act as a server. Kapesh?
------------------
Thas sounds great, but let's let other people sound off before we make a decision, before anyone makes a decision.....
If you want a chatroom, I can make one right now...or we could do the IRC thing..which do you prefer?
For a name howsabout: The ColdStone Cafe?
And what about a Carracho server instead of Hotline? I think Carracho is much better...
The Coldstone Café sounds great. Again, I think we should wait for all regular users to sound off on this topic.
Is that a name for a chat room? Maybe the Coldstone Arena? or maybe just the Coldstone Forum...remember we are supposed to keep it Romanesque..not Parisienne heha
'Coldstone Cafe' is the name of a yuppeeish coffee shop in the town I went to college in. Ick. But whatever.
You can also set up a multi-person chat room with AIM. It's not as bloated as HL Client, it's free unlike most Mac IRC programs, and while connecting to IRC or Hotline takes some degree of effort, all I have to do to be on AIM is launch the client. We could get a big buddy list going. My aim name is, appropriately, sanehatter.
------------------ --You notice that you have been turned into a pile of ashes.
Sounds good, but I don't like getting anything AOL on my computer. AOL gives me the creeps. I don't like their trial disks, and they always mess up my prefs.

you actually put put them in your computer ROFL......anyway....an AIM room sounds kinda flaky..doesn't the host have to be on all the time the chat room is up for it to run? that wont work..we need a 24 hour chat room
I agree, sounds kind of strange to me....but to each his own.
I made a coldstone chat room its at (url="http://"http://network54.com/Hide/Chat/46965")http://network54.com/Hide/Chat/46965(/url) its hosred by network54, so you need to sign up for a screen name and password with them ok? I will be waiting under the name "greendemon"
That's a pretty good idea, I talked to you on it, it's pretty good....
I dunno what to do. Maybe we could use that, hotline, and AIM...
We could use hotline without the chatting there
But I don't want to use AIM. I don't like AOL very much....
I still think something that is incorporated into the browser is best, that way you don't have to worry about installing or connecting to anything. You just load up the page and you're there, and since its on a webpage it is up all the time.
------------------ Was it the Chad?
so you like it? A problem though...it has to refresh so much it will eat up your browser memory very quickly...my browser crashed after just 5 minutes in the room.....if anyone want to chat there, just make sure you give your browser gads of memory.
Yes, that would be an issue of course. I dont mind a regular IRCLE channel, as long as it is not hotline. hotline chat is NOT realtime, there is a significant delay (sometimes over a minute) between when you send your message and when other people see it. Chatting on a hotline server that is not a T1 or T3 is almost the same as posting on a web board.
Congradulations to myself on post #100! I'm not longer a newbie here (in my opinion)

Heh...I'm still a 'newbie' here too, because somehow they didn't let me in to my older accound as the "cybergnü" with the umlaut u...
