I know it'll be unpaid. But at least I'll have something to look forward too in the coming weeks. Getting laid off at Xmas is a bummer.

i'm not speaking for ambrosia, but if you don't annoy them about it you will probably have a better chance of testing.

I don't know if you are ignoring me or something andrew because you didn't respond to my question above but, how big is Coldstone currently (in megabytes)? Will you be able to download it or will you need to purchase it on cd-rom (if it gets that big).

The man has work to do! Actually, it's pretty rare he answers a question of this sort.

Hey, when did you become a moderator? Actually it doesn't really matter a whole lot, was just asking. How big is the old coldstone beta (for those that have it), just to give me a relative idea.

I don't think anyone except Andrew and Beenox people have it. I would guess it's not going to be huge...
(I've been a mod for about a week.)

Since it isn't done, clearly I cannot answer your question.

Details will be forthcoming on how to apply to become a beta tester; this is just a "heads up" to let you know that the beta is in sight!
Oh good. You guys are really getting a lot done then, aren't you? Wow... keep up the good work Beenox and Ambrosia.
It could get fairly big if there were a lot of images that came with it. Personally, I can't do graphics at all so I'd prefer a larger image library, even if it means a bigger download. Possibly even some graphic packs that were available for seperate download (maybe only for registered users or something like that). Things like dinosaurs, space stuff, and buildings would be a good place to start.
i don't care at all about the download time. Cable Modem ;). Need I say more?

I am also blessed with a cable modem, so nothing is beyond my reach, but a 20 meg file is a bit much for people with 56k or less then that (ugh).
I have DSL, it's faster the cable (I think it is), and you don't have to dial up because your always connected! evil laughter And you can still call people on the phone so you won't miss ANY calls!

Well, if your saying that I stole Bryce, well, I didn't, it was on a MacAddict disk so I installed it. Also, if your talking about me e-mailing that one guy about getting Bryce free, I did e-mail him but I never asked for a free copy.
i never implicitly offered a free copy of Bryce either, so why don't you leave us alone? to further my point Andrew, here is what i said
"Nova, dont bother with Strata, get Bryce...email me and i may be able to hook you up with a copy on the cheap"
Read that sentence carefully, I don't see grounds for such an accusation in them. go check it yourself, its unedited
I WAS going to point them to a particular Ebay offer i saw on Bryce if you must know (url="http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item;=1201921768")http://cgi.ebay.com/...item=1201921768(/url)

I have DSL and a 56K modem on separate computers, so I honestly don't care about download size, but I would think Beenox and Ambrosia would make the final image library on a separate CD as it most likely would be huge, and this way they could still get money from people who registered the engine for only 30 bucks a while back. This option would be good for people with slow modems, and good for Ambrosia, because they could get even MORE money from people who can't do their own art. I might be wrong, of course, and they might either have the art as a download or offer the CD to people who already registered, but from a business standpoint I don't think they would do that.
But of course you shouldn't take this post too seriously, as I have no idea what they are going to do myself, as I have no association with this project at all, I just thought I would post my insight.

I advise both of you to drop it completely. It really doesn't matter whether or not you said, "Hey Nova, pick your copy up on Hotline."...we all know that's what you were trying to get across. Anyway, just drop it.
No ,listen to me, I am NOT going to drop it, I will NOT be unfairly accused, and I am NOT going to be unfairly banned or excluded from beta testing
I was just trying to help some people out with a cheap Ebay offer, I am not trying to be annoying by keeping this issue up, and please don't take it that way, I am trying to clarify EXACTLY what i mean't, so there is no misunderstanding
Andrew, I understand that it is innappropriate to post anything that is even remotely questionable on the boards, perhaps I should have been more open in my offer, so that there never was a question of my motives, I understand i was wrong in that i was trying to conduct personal business on the board, where it doesn't belong, that is my fault, but I have made no transgressions beyond that.
Please understand that I am not a software pirate, and so that this doesnt happen again, I will be much more clear in my postings, and i will keep my business off the board as well.

No one has a "right" to be a beta tester; we will ask people who we think will be helpful as beta testers, and they can agree to help or not.
If you are not chosen to be a beta tester, really, it's nothing you can legitimately be upset about.
As for whether you were discussing pirating Bryce or not, I believe you were; I saved the original messages that you posted. If I'm wrong, so be it -- but I don't believe I am.
I also highly suggest that you just drop it, and don't respond to this post.

I believe one of the major catagories they use to determine a beta-tester is wether or not they can follow directions. So far that rules out many people that have been bugging Andrew to be a beta-tester even though he told them not to.
(PS. Note the word "believe")
