OK kiddies, I've been doing some research (actually, I was really bored at work today... ) and found some fun stuff you all might enjoy.
These are aimed more at pen-and-paper role-players, but still useful:
The Big List of RPG plots: (url="http://"http://www.io.com/~sjohn/plots.htm")http://www.io.com/~sjohn/plots.htm(/url)
Role-Playing Tips for Role-Players: (url="http://"http://www.roleplayingtips.com")http://www.roleplayingtips.com(/url) (this one has some good tips on creating truly evil villans)
And this is wild humor, read this before working on your game, please...
Share 'em if you got 'em...
------------------ --You notice that you have been turned into a pile of ashes.
I also found some interesting resources that can help you formulate your rpg go to (url="http://"http://www.rpgtoolkit.com/gamedev.html")http://www.rpgtoolkit.com/gamedev.html(/url)
this page is mostly PC format tilesets that i cant seem to be able to unstuff, but at the bottom are some useful and informative articles on making RPGs

Hehe, my main character is going to have blue hair. That's in the one about having plots all the same.
------------------ The sentient Glue Bubble waves to everyone.
notes that he has a ton of those RPG cliches in his plotline
------------------ I think I'll just leave this blank...
To give you an idea of what my game will look like....
My games graphics are going to be almost like Exile 1.3's, but not quite, i dont want to get sued by Jeff Vogel heha
Hey Glue Bubble, remember, that's gotta be spiky blue hair. Don't go making your hero have a blue afro or anything...
Wow, RPG Toolkit looks pathetic.
I've been thinking that I might set aside what I thought was going to be my first game (Somewhat of a semi- isolated Horror story) and instead do a Comedy/Genre- spoof as my first effort (to, um, familiarize myself with the engine and get a feel for the medium, yeah). The new idea would incorporate as many cliches as practically possible. I think I'd call it "Legend of the Sparkly Hoojit." I can picture it now:
King: Alas, with thou lies the only hope humanity has of defeating the evil Gollum in the Flying Fortress. I knowest that thou art only seven, but thine assistance is necessary to save the world, for thou art the only character not controlled by the computer. Of course, my kingdom will give not the slightest bit of help, and they will promise to whine at every possible--
Hero: Yeah, whatever. Just let me at 'em, OK?
---
Scribe: I knowest very little about the Sparkly Hoojit. What I do know is that the Hoojit is Mysterious, because very little else is known about it. I did findest out that said Hoojit is Old, an artifact of the Vanished Race, defeated in the Great War which happened 1000 years ago today. Of course, the Hoojit is powerful, for it is mentioned in the title of this game. We suspect the Hoojit is currently in four pieces, scattered at the Temples of the Elementals of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water.
. I was laughing to myself on the subway ride home today... probably not a good sign.
So do I have any collaborators?
I think your game will catch on quickly.....::chuckles::
Ya ya!!! Spiky hair and a sword. Better yet, pose them in positions that defy the laws of physics and have them jump half way across the screen, attack, then suddenly do a full reverse and glide back to their original place (I was making fun of Chrono Triger BTW).
------------------ I swear your honour! He was like that when I found him Alex Hawkins**********
Hehe, I like your idea. And yes, definitely, blue hair just isn't blue hair unless it's spiky. (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/thegluebubble/art.html")www.geocities.com/thegluebubble/art.html(/url) That's my main character...sort of anyway. I was a little bit annoyed because scanning it in messed it up a bit...I had to darken the whole thing for it to show up.... ::quits complaining:: Oh well, it'll be fun.
