Arr....it was a super question.......

Ah, hell......
thinks some more
Sweet! I remembered! Alright, I would be surprised if it can't do this, but I wanted to check. Can you close off branches of the storyline if you do one part? I seem to remember that you could play both Rebels and Confederates in EV. Anyway, say Event X happens, can you set it to close off Event Y in the case of Event X happening? ***example: If you take a mission to be recruited by the police, can the maker of the game close off the mission to be recruited by a gang?

Through judicious use of global variables, yes, there's no reason this couldn't be done.

Sounds like a good idea, I hope it's part of you game.

I'm planning on three major storylines.....each excludes the others.....within those storylines there will be missions that exclude others in the same storyline. That's my take on how to make it as replayable as possible....I think it is a fairly good approach too. It will make it possible to play the game at least 3 times without getting bored....and much more if you want to experience different ways of meeting the same general goal.
My still unplanned and unamed game will have one major storyline. I want to focus all of my time on the one to make it the best possible, of course, there will be smaller branches off, but they will mainly be for fun i.e Leen Square in Chrono Trigger or Chocobo Racing in FFVII
