Could I have free rooming PC and NPC's that can wander the map *freely and/or randomly and also interact with players and other NPC. example 1. a thief that runs around and steals from stores & other PC/NPC so you can't buy the iteams or prices go up and you could meet or catch the theif and buy or take from him 2. a floating orb that shoots lighting spells or attacks for meely damage
Yep, this is all easily doable, I like that idea of the thief, I'll havew to have a few of the in my game. (if you don't mind :))

Yeah noprob on using the theif idea. I'm just trying to get a feel for what I can pull off.

Will there be any kind of built-in physices
1. Could I have a rock slide and have the rocks change momentem and direction when they hit each other and the players as well as adding height to ground to allow for rocks rollong along a path (the height of the ground could mean other things like PC walking speed, weather meely, and higher ground advantage)
2. an arrow/bullet gets shot and reflects off rocks/armor
I know this could mean more prep work for me, adding sides to objects and such, but this could be easy by having predefind object shapes, round, square, hex with yeah # of sides. The height of the ground could be shown by numbers , 0 for sealevel, 1 for small hill (20 to 50 feet), 2 for larger hills/cliffs, etc..., a simcity 2000 way of ground control could be used in the editor to help this - but I do not recomend having simcity ground in the fin game just for the editor.

Can the map and objects have Quicktime movies/embeded images? How much control will we have over quicktime?
1. You could use quicktime to make a fire in a fireplace or water in a witches kettle 2. I could also make miny games in flash and embed_ them into quicktime/that'd save you from having to support flash while supporting flash!

You wouldn't have to use a movie, you could do it with a simple NPC.
