I'm sure andrew and Dee are getting really pissed at all these questions. Maybe another FAQ or an update is needed. Anywayz:
Movies. How will they intergrate into the eninge? Will a window pop up with the movie in, or will it replace the main window will it plays? Are then any options for playing?
This has been asked a number of times, but no answer given. Will we be able to use previous work some of us have done in the new version?
Will we be able to implement cheat codes into the game? I know that most of you will be against supporting dirty cheats in your game, but I would like to include some way of helping stuck players.
What files types will be supported for the tilesets and movies etc?
I can't count

Heh, I know even less than you about the game but I have a few ideas. andrew or Dee, correct me if I'm wrong:
Probably a whole window change. The more in focus question from me is if we create our own movies for it or are there movies supplied from the program?
It is a good bet that you would be able to use past data. Most other games just change a little programming and the plugs don't have to be changed. The other side of this is that this is a major change. They whole system is being reworked so it is a more sound bet that you will not be able to use old data (you might be able to use sprites and land tiles but not much more).
Hmmm, cheat codes? How would you implement them into the game? An automatic spell cheat for players in impossible battle? A auto kill cheat to get a player out of an unwanted battle? An auto treasure cheat for unhunted weapons and treasure? These cheats are their title, cheats. It makes you a cheater and nothing more. The get out of battle cheat would have to be implemeted with a loss of victory points and possibly levels for a person who does it. The other cheats would just suck the life out of the game. It should be possible to put codes in but I would strongly advise against it.
This question I have no clue about so I will stop here.
As I said before, this is what I am thinking of the game so far. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of the things I said.

Another question: In Final Fantasy, at the beginning of the game, the player took part in an in game tutorial. Would this be possible in Coldstone. I don't just mean that a load of dialogue buttons were used, but a kind of walkthrough of hown to use the interface was used.

I am pretty sure it will be in just a normal text box like the one that pops up when you talk to an NCP (as with the BETA). But, Dee will probably add a way to play it on the full game screen though.

I know PICT will be one of them, and Dee might add in things like TIF JPEG and EPS, but only possibly.

Hi!
Movies: there is a dialog action type in the event system in which you can select a movie to play. If you don't enter any text or answer choice, the only thing displayed will be the movie, in a window, over whatever thing you may have in the background (like a map). There is also an option (stated in the progress log) that allow you to specify at which size ratio you want your movie to be displayed (1x, 2x, etc.). So, for the full screen mode, you could display a movie 4 times its normal size and if you want a black background, just load a black picture as the background before (and return to the original location after the movie has been viewed).
Previous compatiblity: yeah, I should add this in the FAQ :). The official answer is: maybe but don't count on it. Most of the file formats already changed (for good of course :D).
Cheat: of course. You can do whatever cheat you want with the event system.
Media file formats: Still can't give you an exact answer on that one. PICT will be supported for sure.

Whooooooooooa! Calm down boy! I'm putting cheats into the game me and Skyblade are doing. You have to complete the game, and you will have an arsinal of cheats to spice up the game a little. Invulnirability, better attacks ect. If you do it when they complete the game, then you can balance a line between sucking life out of the game and making it a little more fun. ~Gav

I agree, that's what I think EV needed, some cool cheats at the end. Mind you, you don't really need them.
In the second Zelda game, once you've finished playing it once you get to do it all over again, but this time with all the weapons and skills you've acquired the first time around. I thought it was really fun going to the start of the game and using advanced weaponry against the same monsters that seemed so powerful before. I think this is something like what you're talking about.

The only time I allow myself to cheat in a game is when I get done playing it. The idea of allowing cheats only after finishing a game is the only real way to do it in my mind. It keeps the real players in line and doesn't allow the unregistered players to have some extra fun at the end. I am adamently against the use of cheats for beating the game though.

Everyone else is replying to this statement, so I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon; I'd like to have some cheats in the game, the question is: What kind of cheats do you plan on putting in?
