Exactly how detailed can you make a game be with Coldstone? Can you make it so you can design what your characters will wear? And, can you make them react to different weapons in battle?

From what I can surmise, Coldstone games can be very detailed.
You can create your own character sprites.

This question was adressed earlier. I will give you the same answer. It would take forever to draw all the sprites for a person if you show every change in equiptment. You can do it, don't get me wrong, but it would be just a waste of time. Make a general appearance (like Realmz) and have that same appearance in that charactor throughout the game (trust me, it will make it a whole lot easier).

Like Desert Fox said, it is possible in Coldstone to launch an event (in which you change the player sprite or animation) when the player equip an item. However, if drawing a character sprite for every different items could take you quite some time, making only one or two special items change the player appearance would be really cool. Like if the player get an awesome golden armor somewhere and you want him to appear shiny and everything...
This feature could also be great if you want the player to appear stronger as he gains levels. You could change his look at level 5, 12 and 20 so that he starts as a kid and finish as an experienced knight.

I've thought of that too. Certain items would change its appearance (just a select few(and those would be hard enough to find as it is)) and certain levels would permanently change his appearance. That is actually a really good idea.
