I don't suppose you could let the populace know whether the windows version will ever be updated, could you? Great work on the game, though, and I really appreciate how well the corporate you has done on it.

Ambrosia is very good about updating, the 1.0.9 mac version of Nova is already in the pipeline. In fact, I think it's being worked on by Pipeline. However, Ambrosia itself does not directly update the windows version, this is the job of the people who actually worked on the windows code, which is Contraband. We know that Contraband is currectly working on updating the windows version to 1.0.8, however, we have no idea when this will be done, except that it should be soon. Will it be updated? Of course! Will it be in a timely manner like Ambrosia wanted it to be? Afraid not. Don't worry about it too much though, a 1.0.6 to 1.0.8 update will not result in a huge number of fixes or bugs, namely because there really isn't that much to fix.
i would also like to know when an updated version is coming out for the pc, i've played this game since ev was first released!

No one knows when the windows update will be out. Not even Ambrosia knows when the windows update will be out. We really don't have a clue, otherwise, we would tell everyone when we expected the update to be released. And again, besides annoying but avoidable bugs like the char bug, it's not like 1.0.8 is a must have update. You can still perfectly enjoy the game in 1.0.6, it can just get quirky sometimes.
TomWoozle's links appear to be bad. I guess things must have moved.
The board move screwed up all old links. That makes me think...
The ONLY problem I really have with the pc version, is that quite a few of the text boxes have text that goes beyond the bottom and a scroll bar never appears. Probably not missing anything super crucial, but a real pain when you are getting into the story lines and all of a sudden you can't read what you are being told.
As far as making the game better....the only thing I can think of would be to add voice packs to the game. This way, you could play and have the other NPC's talk to you rather than just text boxes. THIS would be very cool and would make the game move up to an all new level.
An enterprising plug-in developer with lots of time would be able to do that. By recording the mission descs as quicktime files and having it play them.
Of course; are you ready to download 200 MB plug-ins, SpectroPro?
There is a hella lotta load of text in Nova, much more so than in other games (which can therefore afford to have speeched text).
I'm on the demo Windows version, and I seem to be hitting alot of dead ends with my pilots where there's apparently been a glitch. I couldn't seem to get those fix pack addons converted correctly either. I think I'll register it when the updates for windows come out.
Do you think that perhaps it would be possible to intergrate some of the plugs into the actual game, so you could activate them from the options menu ingame - that plugin that allows you to choose which storyline you follow would probably be a good example of one to include.
Zacha Pedro, who doesn't have boardband these days? For EV, I'd happily download 4 gigs of sound files- this is a brilliant game regardless (even though i seem to have hit a knot).

There's no glitch, you just aren't yet meeting all the requirements for your next mission. Why don't you make a new topic on the Nova board asking for help with your pilots, and give more information about where you are in the game. We'll be able to help. Also, you couldn't get those plugins to work because you are unregistered. Even if you did all the steps to convert a mac plugin to windows format, they still wouldn't work because you need to be registered to use plugins. Although, it's actually a good thing you couldn't get them to work. If you did get any fix plugin to work, it would almost be certain that you would have introduced new bugs into your game. Almost all fix plugins made have been made for bugs that were removed from the game before version 1.0.6 (the current windows version). What happens when you use a fix plugin that fixes a bug that has been solved is that the plugin will cause the bug to happen again. Never use a fix plugin unless it says it is made for the version of Nova you're using. Generally only the plugins made by Slagblah to fix issues with the game are clear on what versions they should be used for, and how to use them. Also, new features are no longer added to the game. Nice idea, but unless it's a bug fix, it isn't added by new updates.

Okay thanks mate, since I posted I managed to unknot myself somewhat.
Well, with Contraband working on PC Nova updates, it leaves the Mac users in the front, with all the latest.
Poor PC users. But, IMO, they shouldnt quite be playing a game from a Mac Game company. I can understand making money for Ambrosia, thats good.
It was almost funny to watch the PC users drool over Nova in the days it was only for Mac.
Ahh... how the good days go by so fast.
No offense to PC users, just ignore me and my atheist and Mac bias. Remember that I live in far off lands created by hallucinogens. Just kiddin.
Best of luck teh the Contraband team to get that update out and to stop slacking around watching Indiana Jones movies.
Edit! Im kiddng with that one, too. They probably have something like a three man team working on it. Poor fellows.
