My name is Teralnis. I am Miranu. I am writing this so that if my people die, hopefully our story shall live on in the hearts of those who read it. To start off, I must begin with recent Miranu history.
Not long after the United Earth forces pushed back the Voinian offensive, the government was re-elected, as it is with their democracy. The officials elected were young though, and greatly resented the Voinians. They had darkness and hate within. They started broadcasting over UE nets, becoming popular with human fanatics. They claimed that the Voinians had not payed enough for their crimes, and humanity would never again be safe unless they were gone. These officials started passing laws, terrible laws, against the Voinians. Protesters were imprisoned, those who spoke out were put in prisons on far off planets. I have heard rumors that a Voinian planet, once peaceful, content to live under the rule of the UE if nothing bad happened, rebelled. Supposedly, they were crushed mercilessly. Voinian planets started falling, and they were brutally occupied. Voinians were forced into concentration camps, and murdered, much as in the great human Holocaust. The public was unaware, as the corrupt Parliament had secretly dominated and censored various networks. All we Miranu heard was faint rumors, an escaped Voinian or two with tales of genocide. Soon, the Voinian empire was completely under the control of the UE/Emalgha alliance. Still not content with the territory & power they had gained, the UE proposed the "peaceful" assimilation of the Emalgha. They refused. The corrupt UE officials were outraged, and started branding the Emalgha as "traitors", worse than the Voinians. Not surprisingly,they declared war on the Emalgha, whose forces were no match for the vast UE fleet. The legendary Admiral McPherson, now leader of our government, resigned. The senator from the world of First Centauri, Gerard Callaros, who was secretly in power, demanded he return. Mcpherson refused, and was pursued by Callaros' secret forces. Fortunetly, the former Admiral was able to defect to us in a scoutship. He came to Mira hoping for a chance to live a peaceful life. He never got one. The time for elections soon returned, and the UE was tired of these corrupt, crazy senators. But it was no good-the senators took control and established a dictatorship, with Callaros at the head. Soon, Diktat Callaros sent an envoy to Mira. He said the Miranu were holding back on their trade treaties, and the UE deserved more. We replied in turn, saying the UE was in serious danger of threatening the stability of the treaties. They sent back a formal apology, and promised to increase trade. Little did we know the treachery of the human Diktat.
I was there, at Pybin Station, the first Day of the UE invasion. I had been working as a mercenary under the Miranu Pride, a Crescent Warship, and the flagship of the Zachit, who had soon been employed all throughout Miranu Space. I remember the battle well...

I always thought the Ue were actually evil people well the're human arn't they so of course we would wipe out the Voinians and Emalgha. Cool story, nice to see the Human 'good guys' turn evil. Sorta brings over how humans really. have you posted the next part?

Nice story, uplift. It seems to be in slight contrast with my way of writing on the UE, and I like it. It has shown the fall of a once prideful and powerful government that had been founded in the hopes of peace for humanity. The Voinians gave the United Earth something to fight for and when the threat was largely over with, it would seem the more power-hungry officals seized the reigns of power and expanded. It shows how the public could be swayed. It kinda reminds me of Babylon Five in a sense. Well anyways, good story again uplift. This defenitly one story I'm looking forward to reading more of.

Great story, especially aliens as the good guys. (Personally, I like Miranu tech a lot bettr.)Anyway, great stroy. Just one question, are the Emalgha the brown and tan aliens?
