EV/EVO Chronicles: The J'ting Chronicles-Chapter Four

Chapter five:

“WHAT?!?” yelled the Voinian Commander in Chief. “A Master ship? How can this be? We made sure we destroyed all of them and all routs of their routs into our space.” “I know, Sir,” Said Obrb “But the fighter pilot from the Pluto is one hundred percent sure that is what it was.” “But ”
“Did you summon me, Commander?” A human that had just come in interrupted. "How dare you inter Oh. Sorry, General. I didn’t think it was you. Yes, come in please. Capitan Obrb, this is General Dash. You should remember him from the Battle of Yandros.”
“General Dash!” Obrb remarked. “I never thought I would see you. What are you doing here?” “Called to help out you boys. Apparently your own forces couldn’t handle something. I’m just waiting to see what it is so I can kill it and go back to hunting those United Earth scum.” “Yes, well, this will be more difficult then capturing Yandros.” Said the Voinian Commander. “Yeah, so? We did that didn’t we?” “Yes. But don’t forget how many losses we took.”
“Yeah. Three hundred Fifty Frigates, a Hundred Cruisers, and a whole lot of fighters.” “You sound like that is nothing to you. It took six months, using all the production capabilities of the Voinian Empire, to make that fleet." said the Voinian CIC, starting to go into a rage
"It almost totally crippled us to lose that many ships. But, thankfully, the UE Empire was crippled by the loss of Yandros. Who knew that most of their generals were there doing a tour dé force there with most of their Cruisers? And don’t forget ”
“Look, commander,” Interrupted Dash. “You sent for me for a reason. And I’m willing to bet that it wasn’t to discuss history. What was it?” “We have spotted a ship of the only race that has ever conquered us.” Replied the Voinian CIC, looking rather miffed, but starting to calm down. “We thought we had destroyed them, or at least made them stay away forever, but now we see that we were wrong. This single ship destroyed our most Elite fleet. We don’t know how much of it was surprise, how much was fear, how much was skill, and how much was weaponry, but the fact remains that the Fleet was destroyed. We need the ship destroyed, and we need it destroyed now!” “Alright. What will you pay me to kill it?” The CIC stood there, agape, for a moment before he roared:
“THE VOINIAN EMPIRE IS AT STAKE, AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS MONEY!?! I OUGHT TO HAVE YOU SHOT!!!” “But you won’t, will you? You need me, I need credits, you give me credits, I give you me, and we’ll both be happy, capish?” “Alright. We can pay you one million credits. But we need the location of the wreckage and have to inspect it before we can pay you, ‘capish?’ as you say it.” “Good. That should be enough. For now, at least. Where was the ship last seen?” “The Irid system. It hasn’t been seen anywhere else, but maybe it just killed any one who did. And before you ask, our only Station or Colony lost was Outpost Topel.” “Good. I’ll start there.” Said Dash. “By the way, it would be a good idea to try to get a temporary peace treaty with the UE scum while we kill this ship, whoever it belongs to. It would not be good to have our Empire overrun while we are trying to dig out that worm.” “That sounds like a good idea. I’ll summon some Diplomats." The CIC turned away, and started placeing a call, after takeing the phone into a sound proof force field.

About ten minutes later, he came out. "Captain Obrb, you will be the one to take them there. The Diplomats asked for you, specifically. I will assign two Cruisers and five Frigates, along with twenty Heavy Fighters, to escort you to Pax. We can’t afford to lose the Diplomats to a UE Carrier.” "Yes sir." said Obrb, starting towards the docking bay.
