Before you read: this is Jake101. I have TONS of new stories that are going to be submitted here to the Chronicles for the year of 2001. So if you like UE Fighter, Jade's Return, and A Hidden Legacy, prepare for more of the good stuff, as well as a new guy in town: Redline Inc. ENJOY! ---------------------------
VOL. 3- A NEW THREAT
The pulsating engines roared to life as I flicked the heavenly switch. It was time to fight. Barry's ship lifted up and cruises directly to the exit, finally he hit the accelerator and launched through the shield.
I could see the foot pedals to help control turning below me. I had only recently had to get used to these, for they were on the new model's of the fighter only, and I felt that I could do probably better without them. I guess that wasn't my choice.
"Agh!" I winced at my still-aching leg, that was slowly leaking more and more blood. The bleeding was on and off, but I decided to fly with it anyway, for I could still fly, even though I was in nearly constant pain.
PEALTH, WAALEE
The shield's sound had always given a pleasant feeling to my ears when the cockpit window touched it, sending a interesting water-like sound throughout the ship. Fun, fun, fun! I could do that all day.
"Zak, pull to the right, take on the second wave."
"Check, "I replied to Barry over the commlink.
Red light echoed in the blaze cannon's footsteps to the cockpit as I fired them. Blowing away Krait after Krait. It was definitely like the 4th of July back on Earth.
SHIELD: 67%
"Hey, Barry, how you doin' over there on your shield?" I said over the commlink, locking onto a Krait as it flew under a Turncoat. The Turncoat's blaze fire rocked the ship, lowering my shields once more. "Dagh."
"I'm at 30%, I can't be out here much longer. I've got Helian needle fire all over me. Good thing we got light jamming systems, or I'd be done for."
"Where are you?" I asked.
"Where's Justin? Did he follow us out?"
"I d-PEALTHFFF I'm takin' needle fire, I'm going back to the bay, see you there!"
"But Z@#. I n33d, STECHHCHETHCH-" Barry's voice was cut off by static as I flew through a swarm of Kraits. There was so many Turncoat and Traitor class vessels I didn't know what was going to happen to the U.E.S. Earth. And Justin and Barry. . .well, where was Justin?
I switched to my system-sub-menu to find that my commlink was dead. The ship shaked violently from a needle hit, and so I went to shields.
SHIELD: 21%
"Perfect!" I yelled inside the cockpit. I took another hit, then another, and another. Kraits were going down in flames all around me, I could see the U.E.S. taking out ship after ship in the distance. . .only followed by a horrifying sight. On of the blaze turrets was hit by a string of needle missles. . .gone. The turret was gone.
"This is nuts!" I yelled once more.
Then I saw two escape pods exit the ship. Were they evacuating?
SHIELD: WARNING Shield Down WARNING. Oh crap! I looked at the Armor gauge, it was faded for a split second. RAEAK!
I looked out the right of my cockpit canopy to see my right wing gone. I began to unexpectedly laugh.
"Good Lord!" I said through my hysterics. I turned to the console and hit the red "E". My canopy detached from the ship, and I saw the U.E.S. Earth, and the Renegade fleet fade away. They got smaller. . . .smaller. . . .smaller. . .then nothing.
I fell asleep.

"Ugh, it's too early, dad! Stop!! QUIT SHAKIN' ME! Oh. . .I'm sorry, I-" I awoke. I glanced at the comm screen. I must have gone out cold, but for how long? Did they know where I was? Where was the-
"UE Task Force 10,"I read it aloud. "Well, that's me. . .Agh, what the hell happend?? And why am I talking to myself?"
I looked up. The cold, dark void of space lay around me. I had no idea where I was. I hit "M" on my comm screen. The map flickered to life. I glared at it in disbelief. The indicator showed that I was on the very edge of the Bakka system. The leg winced again.
"AAAAAUUUUUUGGHHHH!"
I stopped, and took a deep breath, then breathed out, shuddering. I looked out the cockpit canopy once more. I could see a ship in the distance.
"Oh my God! Oh my God!" I yelled as the pain stabbed once more. I looked down to see blobs of red liquid floating. The gravity system must have been deactivated upon detaching from the fighter.
I unstrapped myself from the seat and floated torwards the front section of the window to get a closer glimpse of the ship. It was an SS-22. What was a little scoutship doing way out here? I wonder if he saw me.
My hopes started to fade when he seemed to begin to turn around. But then he started torward me. He began to circle me. It went on for 10 minutes, then he came to a stop and turned over, his bottom thrusters were activated to a lite pulse. I could see him inside and he waved with a concerned face.
I rolled my eyes and made a gesture showing that my commlink was broken. Then I looked down at the comm screen and saw text appearing. He was my only hope. I looked at the sub-screen to see something important.
OXYGEN: 1:26
One hour, 26 minutes. That would buy some time. Not much, but it would definitely buy some time. I strapped myself back in and watched the man's messaging slowly. Like an animal without legs, but still living fine. . .I was helpless.

Cool. It's been a while since I've seen any of the UE Fighter stuff, and it's good to see it again. How many more parts do you think there will be?
------------------
Cool story, although there are a couple tense things, its great anyway. Can't wait for more.
----------------- DAMN THE MAN!
This year, the released volumes after this one are going to be: Vol. 4-12. And in 2002, it will go to 25, with the final volumes in the year of 2003.
What do you mean by tense?
It's nothing major. It doesn't even matter sorry that I mentioned it. ("Barry's ship lifted up and cruises"). It's just stupid nitpicking that I was taught. Don't worry about it.

Sounds like you've got it all planned out. Can't wait to read it.
Yes, indeed I do have it all planned out. And tyrex: I know it's no big deal. Hehe, I was jus' wonderin'!! So chill out. BTW, has anyone seen the M.W.O.101 website yet? Or the GS Creation website, for that matter. I haven't updated in a while, and haven't really had time to work on many stories, but I plan to do some work over Spring Break. Besides that, I've been real tied up with school work and other projects. For those of you who are too lazy to go to the newswire section, the url to the websites, you can access either one from the below link. Pretty good. My only question is how did the escape pod end up outside the Bakka system, when the likely place you'll find renegades is around Huron? Oh well, only a minor complaint. Great story!

Well Cap'n, you also have to remember that that's the game. This is the story, and I try to base this off of what it would really be like. The Renegades could have used the nuetral space in between UE and Voinian territory to launch a surpise attack. That's what I was thinking of whenever I wrote it. Oh yes, and by the way, I've finally gotten back to work on the stories and everything. I actually have been taking a break for a while, and should be getting back to all the stuff. Right now, it's 3:07 A.M. 13th of March. I'm really tired, but I've been up all night working on the GS and 101 websites. As soon as I purchase the FTP package from Redrival, the updates should be posted. Sucks that I have to pay. . . .but oh well, hopefully I'll be able to afford it. Without FTP, I'm gonna have to move to a whole new service provider, so I'd better be able to pay, because moving to a new provider is a pain.
LONG LIVE JUDE! =D (I miss Jude.) JUDE WAS COOL!
