Chapter 9 - The Plan
Hello everyone. I think you know why you are all here. We have a navy. We have weapons and ships. But now we need a plan. We have discovered that the Voinians are planning an attack on Sol. We have to be ready.
The United Earth Carriers will be delayed due to a design flaw so we shouldnt expect having their help. Now United Earth Destroyers and Fighters are being put into mass production. Now...
A holo-map blazed forward with a picture of the system. Almost 100 green dots popped up.
These are the fighter squadrons. Now, at the front line near Pluto is Squadron Independence who ranked first in training. Now they will hide in the atmosphere of its moon until the first wave arrives, where then they will start attacking. Squadron Firelight finished second. They will hide between Neptune and Pluto. Squadron Skullriders will back up the two. Make sure no fighters get beyond that point. Now...
The holo-map lit up again as 100 slightly larger dots showed up across the map.
These are the Destroyer Wolf-Packs. Squadron Storm will destroy any Frigates beyond Jupiter point. Fighter Squadrons Phoenix, Thunder-head, and Firestorm are to hide in the Asteroid Belt along with Destroyer Squadrons Strikers, Hercules, Medusa, and Sandstorm. Destroy any ships before they get to Mars. Destroyer Squadrons Knight, Ares, Zeus, Omega, Devils, Angelfire, and Gigantos. You are the gate keepers. No one can be let through past Luna. Any other Squadrons not mentioned are to stand their position and destroy any ships entering your patrol area. This wave strategy will wear down the vast forces. After they have passed certain points...
The holo-map lit once more with blue lights at Neptune, Jupiter, the Asteroid Belt, Mars, Luna, and Earth.
... you will move to blockade the next point. For instance, after they pass Neptune point, Squadron Skullriders, Firelight, and Independence along with all surrounding fighter or destroyer Squadrons will converge at Jupiter point to make a blockade. This will keep going until Luna point is breached. There, all Squadrons will move to Earth and defend it with your life. If one ship passes Earth, all is lost.
Suddenly the klaxon blared loudly. Everyone tensed as an officer screamed over it. ADMIRAL! They are attacking!! Ships have been spotted in Saalia, Centauri, and Eltor!!!
Everyone looked at each other and raced to their ships.
Chapter 10 - Battle of Sol
The Voinian ships were massive. None of them compared to the tiny heavy fighters that we saw before. They had jumped from Eltor, and were converging fast. Pluto had already been breached and Neptune point was next.
Firelight and Skullriders, take out these fighters! Kugle, Independences leader, screamed over the comms unit.
We quickly received scans from 5 of the Cruisers fighter escorts. Dirk and Hawk took the two on the right and Jacks and I took the other three. I told Gildor to help out Firelight with two other fighter escorts. A couple other Squadrons joined in the fight as well. It was extremely hard to maneuver around. The swarms of Cruisers and Frigates outnumbered us severely. The purple blasts rocked my ship, almost destroying it a few times. We finally destroyed the two escorts and moved on to the next. But it was impossible. Six squadrons couldnt take out half of the fighters in the giant Voinian fleet.
This is Vyker. I dont think we can do this without getting ourselves killed. I say we retreat to Jupiter point. Theres backup there and well at least have a chance, reasoned the Firelight Squadron leader.
After careful deliberation, Kugle responded with a retreat. He informed 20 Destroyer Squadrons to back us up at Jupiter point.
I could hear Jacks tapping nervously over the comm unit as we waited for the Voinian fleet. About 10 Destroyer squadrons and 15 Fighter squadrons were intercepting them as we waited.
Dammit! We cant just wait here for those people to die! Im moving to Saturn to help out! Jacks screamed.
His thrusters sounded as he shot forward to help out. Tapping the control stick, I jammed it forward. Dirk followed with Hawk behind him.
As much as I hate to admit it, Jacks is right, came from the agitated Gildor.
Squadron Independence, Firelight, and Forge followed suit and everyone else came up from the rear. We tore through the first few fighters with ease. Only a few of our squadrons remained and they needed relief. The wolf packs of Destroyers shattered a few Frigates and began firing Hunters at a Cruiser. My squadron zipped by firing rocket after rocket, blaze after blaze.
Split up! I screamed as Hawk and went one way and Dirk, Gildor, and Jacks went the other.
We ganged up on a group of six fighters. I fired a rocket at one and moved to the other. Hawk zigzagged through three, disabling one of them. I took a dive bomber approach and took out the one hit by the rocket. I ran full speed at the undamaged one only to be blown back by a rocket. Alarms flared and red lights went ablaze.
Warning. Fuel temperature critical. Explosion eminent, came from the computer's female voice.
I flipped a few switches and cool liquid began to flow into the fuel tanks. The red lights cease to flash just in time to avoid the second rocket.
Let meh help you, monimee, Hawk said, ambushing the gray triangle.
All that was left were three fighters. We were joined by the rest of our triumphant squadron. The rest of the debris was scattered. Squadron Jinx shot out from the swarm taking out a few fighters in the process. Independence followed behind along with four giant Destroyers. We all ganged up on 5 Cruisers.
I saw Dirk shoot forward, cannons ablaze. His afterburners lit up the night as he dodged a couple of purple blasts. Unfortunately, a rocket hit him instead. YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! Dirk ricocheted sideways.
His ship spun out of control. I saw bits of debris fly off, along with one of his massive Blaze cannons. It flew outward right at another UE Fighter. It hit the visor with such force, it blew open. I watched the pilot get ripped out of the cockpit, freeze and explode in the blanket of night. Dirk finally started to regain control, as I watched in horror when another rocket hit him head on. The bits of debris hit my visor as I shed a small tear for my lost comrade.
The Cruisers finally went down, but more than half of the fleet remained. They slowly approached the next point, eclipsing the Earth from my sight.
Author's note: The Battle of Sol is almost over. I think about four more chapters and this will be finished. When that happens, look for the sequel, Renegade Wars!

Nice story. Looking foreward to the next part.

My objective is to live forever. So far so good.
In your story, the Voinian War only takes a few months at most. I believe the War would take several years. Other than that though, I enjoy reading your Story. It's well written, And I like the first person account. I would like to see more of this soon, and hope Renegade Wars appears quickly. -Timm

According to Jude, there's a 2 month backlog, so I dunno. =
------------------
Well, I think the next chapters should be up after this one (since I put them up at the same time. Renegade Wars may not be out for maybe a week to two weeks after. But you would have to ask Jude about that one
That reminds me... I have to keep writing for Renegade Wars! I'm only up to Ch. 3! I'm actually very into GenX 2 right now (a sequel in the future). It's so unique, I almost wish I could post it right now. It will have about 20-30 chapters and is full of mystery/surprise But it won't be out for a looooooong while. Just be patient though
I hope you keep enjoying this as much as I do.
P.S. I'm going to start up the Captain's Journal again so all may rejoice!

The backlog here is horrible. I have already submitted all three parts of the first part of my Rigadaz trilogy, Three. None of them have appeared here yet :frown: . It's got a good surprise ending . BTW is it possible to change your User name? I mispelled the last name. It's supposed to be Rigadaz, after the main character of my story. but I typed Ragadaz instead  .

What you do is you transfer your account to a non-existant e-mail adress, then sign up again.
Love the story Jive.
------------------ uh... come back later
Jive320--chapters 11 & 12 will be posted right after The Miranu Ch. 1&2. I'm sorry to say that the Renegades War Prologue won't be up for about a month after that (Got a bunch of submissions inbetween, which are, after all, other good stories to read!).
Igor Ragadaz--I only see one story by you in the pending chronicles. It's called Three: Prologue, and it will be up right before Jive320's Renegade Wars Prologue. Jude

That's not good . I have posted Three parts, but I think I know what happened. A question first. If I submitted a story under an invalid user name and tried to type a password with it, would the story still be submitted? If not, that's what occured. If so, Jude, could you not post the prolouge. I want the whole story to appear relatively close together. Thanks.
Oo... Can't wait for the next chapters.

Okay, resubmit all the parts at once, and then send me an e-mail asking me to delete the old version of Three: Prologue? Jude
