EVO: Chimćra
Prologue - Chap. 1
The year was 2241. The Voinian Empire invaded Sol. Emperor Adč was at the head of their forces that fateful day. His flagship was one of a handful of vessels that escaped. Afterwards, the Voinian Empire plunged into oblivion due to most of the fleet being vaporized and low funding from reconstructing it. Adč imposed a dictatorship upon his own people.
It is now 2260. There are reports of Azdgari squadrons adrift near Kade . . .
---------------
Squadron Onyx was performing routine patrols when they happened across raider squadron "Jade," one of the most prominent Azdgari raider groups in the galaxy. The squadron was adrift.
"Lieutenant," said Dennis, "scan for life signs."
"Acknowledged," replied the lieutenant.
Admiral Dennis was one of few Azdgari squadron commanders who was of another race -- in fact, he was human. He started out as a simple mercenary, destroying the occasional Renegade fighter squadron and escorting freighter convoys until he found himself working for the Azdgari.
"Sir," said the lieutenant, "there are no life signs. No organic residue whatsoever. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this fleet was just manufactured and randomly sent to a nearby system."
"How . . . odd," replied Dennis. "Very odd. Check for ionic residue."
"Yes, sir," acknowledged the lieutenant.
Dennis knew that ion storms couldn't possibly cause a fleet to drop dead with no apparent damage. He had heard myths of a space-time creature that would do things of this magnitude -- disabling ships without any damage and eliminating anything organic.
"Sir," said the lieutenant, "there's ionic residue spread all over this sector, strengthening towards the galactic west."
"Right," replied Dennis. He accessed the intercom. "This is Admiral Dennis. We're boarding the Jade squadron flagship. All senior officers report to the briefing room."
TO BE CONTINUED . . .

A space-time monster, eh? Sounds cool.

I like your story, and I'm intreagued about what the connection between the Voinians and the Adzgari is, but couldn't you have made the first part longer.

It's just the prologue and the first chapter, so, no, he couldn't have.
