We finished a very well visited tournament and showed that pop-pop has advanced to a higher level with very good tourney-only players

Special honors go to Eno who claims to have won the Bracketing-Game aside of the main tournament and to eccles for beeing the middle winner with all games and rounds differences of NULL and who got up very very early in the morining to play.
We were happy to welcome popeye as a new tournament player! Because it were so many games and players we finally could not arrange a chat with all players aferwards. Anyway I want to thank Jesse, Paulina and Neta who left before the end for participating and I hope they had fun!!!
Of course we were also missing some Players, escpecially Lumisa who is hopefully back the next time, but also 888.ivan, Zap, Helix etc.pp.
Thanks all! And congrats to Ryoko!
P.S. Please suggest Dates for the next Tournament

Hai! it was great to see many people there for once. While it is a shame there were not a few more - Hyko-san has already noted most of the slackers ^_~ - it was still very enjoyable.
Domo arigato, minna, for turning up and playing. ^^ And unlucky Hyko, who after doing the hard work of putting SHOES down twice in the same tournament could not quite make it at the end. -- I suppose it must be quite difficult to go straight from him to me since our playing styles are somewhat different! ^_^;
Anyway, I am very happy to be back as the shin no noir of pop-pop. Kirika would be proud ^_^; :: walks off humming 'canta per me', popping back only very briefly to fix a few typos ::

Congratulations Ryoko, it was a very close tourney, but a worthy win, well done.
It was great to have so many good players. I'd also like to take my hat off and bow to Eccles for playing at about 5am in the morning from Oz - you should have been given extra points for sleep deprivation!
If the same players can make the next tourney, with the addition of Lumisa, Helix, Danny/Squibix and others, we could have a HUGE tourney! Getting into the semis could become very tricky. What about Sunday 1st August? I wouldn't be able to make a tourney on the following weekend.
Well played everyone and thanks for hosting Hyko. See you all at the next one.

Sshhhhhh.
Adding my sentiments to those above; thanks to Hyko for hosting the tourney and to all my opponents for giving me a good workout. There's nothing like facing human opponents to make you really feel like you've EARNED your wins.... It was my first tourney & I had tremendous fun. It gave me a real buzz to find I had somehow achieved that perfectly balanced ZERO DIFFERENCE in ALL areas - I looked through the past results: While there were other instances of zero diffs, this was the only one that was balanced in both rounds AND games won & lost ... which somehow was a rather satisfying consolation for just missing out on the top four
I can't really think of any dates off the top of my head, but I'm already looking forward to the next tourney

Congrats to all! The tourney was great, my best yet! But I suppose that would be from some players being out of shape.
August 1 sounds good, July 25 would be a really bad day for me. I don't know a lot about European time zones, but could the tourney be held an hour later? But then again, maybe that wouldn't be a good idea, seeing that eccles came in ahead of me at the time it was. Thanks for hosting the tournament Hyko!

Sounds good in my ears. Some other opinions? And what do you think to play a little bit later like 19.30 or 20.00GMT like Jesse suggested? Eno, I think you will still have holidays then and should be able to join?
Who wants to host?

Hi! At first congrats to Ryoko who was great! August 1th is also great, you're right, hyko: I'll still have holidays. 20:00 GMT (or 19:30 GMT) would be wonderful but any point in time around it too.
See you! Gxis la! Eno

So I take it the date is set for the first? Hopefully this tournament will get as good of a turnout as the last one. Thanks for hosting this next one Hyko!

Sorry, it said you were hosting on the tourney system.
Sounds like you all had a great tourney then! Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to be available for tournaments for a while, as I am currently touring Australia for the next 6 weeks. You never know though...if I can get hold of a PC with internet access, I might just be able to play...in the middle of the night that is...(if the download link works...)

If you're in Sydney, you're more than welcome to stop by and say G'day
So after all this discussion and only two weeks till the tournament, why are there still only two people signed up?
Oh, and should the next tournament be started in a new topic, or should we not bother?

The tournament is not announced "officially" yet. I put it in the system but did not send a mail to the users, yet. I think the host or I will do it the next week including an announcement on the board.

Yeah I think it is good to start a dedicated thread. Eno, Hyko, or whoever is hosting?
