An update to Ambrosia's award winning game, pop-pop, has been released! pop-pop 1.0.4 contains both enhancements and bug fixes to the popular arcade game.
You can download the new version here:

Change list:
- fixes inability to start a network game when no options are modified - fixes very infrequent "lazy symbol pointer" problem at launch - support for sharing a license code across all users on MacOS X - updated Register application with new graphics and contact info - packaged as .smi to avoid Stuffit problems with bundled executables

Wait, do we need to upgrade to version 1.0.3 first. Or can we go strait from 1.0.2 to 1.0.4?
------------------ After fighting revelation on the web with few sucesses, the hacker mumbles, cd usr run faith
I believe the download is the full app, so it shouldn't matter what version you're at now.

There is an updater available that contains the necessary files to bring any previous pop-pop version to 1.0.4. The full version is 14.5Meg, the updater only 2.1Meg.
You can download the updater directly from here:

Is it me, or does Zap look an awful lot like V.I.N.C.E.N.T from "The Black Hole"?

I downloaded this update. But it does not work. It seems not to be the correct version because I get a warning on start up that 1.0.4 is available... strange...

The internal version number in 1.0.4 was the same as the one in 1.0.3. We bumped the "current version" reported by the server for a day to notify the 1.0.3 folks about the update, but rolled it back tonight because it is annoying after you upgrade.
I downloaded 1.0.4 but when I open it and check what version that I am in it says that I am in 1.0.3. Any suggestions?

Download the 1.0.4 file again and put it somewhere like your desktop. Delete all other pop-pop files. Then re-expand the downloaded 1.0.4 and double-click the app. Other than that....
I have the feeling pop-pop for windows wil hit the streets very soon.... good.

It still says that I have pop-pop 1.0.3 even after I deleted everything and re-downloaded, but I guess that is okay.

Hmm. You don't say if you're using OS X or not, but if so did you delete the com.AmbrosiaSW.pop-pop.plist from your ~/Library/Preferences folder? Other than that, and as long as you can see and play 1.0.4 players...

Yes, I am using OS X. I went to finder and deleted everything I could find, including preferences. But I think that I am seeing 1.0.4 players, at least there have been people on to play me.
I have been having problems with getting 1.0.4 too, but can't I still play people with that version even if I have 1.0.3?
