There's been some talk lately of reviving the tournament game, and I thought I might offer to host a tourney since I've never yet done so. I was thinking Saturday, January 31st (an edit: I orginally had '30th'), at something like noon Eastern Time (which would be, I believe, 5:00 in England and 6:00 in Germany?). Later than that would also do for me, but not much earlier; because I will by then have taken up residence in California, where I will be in the dreaded Pacific Time zone--which is also why I probably can't host before then (I'm moving this Sunday).
Any thoughts? The date and time is far from set in stone: I offer it only as an opening suggestion. Let me know if you think you could make it, and if there's a better time/date for your schedule. Or, for that matter, if you'd rather host a tournament yourself and take the whole thing out of my hands.

Possibly a hour later.
Sorry, I ment day.
Any time around there has equal chance of being good for me. I was going to suggest then myself, but I'm still not 100% sure I'll be around. I'll certainly drop in if I can
The proposed time seems to be pretty fine to me, I think I would join the tourney (The 30th is a Friday, isn't it?)

Er... yes. So it is. I meant Saturday the 31st , of course; though I'd be open to Friday the 30th as well. Regrettably, pepperjack, I don't think I'd be able to do Sunday.

It is okay if I don't get to play in this one, but I won't be able to play from Friday night to Saturday night, EST. There will always be more tournaments.

yes, yes, yes, iΒ΄ll be there!

I still cannot guarantee to be able to join the tournament but I will try to. Meanwhile I have granted host rights to Danny/Squibix on the tourney system, so that he is able to use it for hosting.

There sure will!
And Hyko, thanks very much. Are there any more opinions as to date and time before I lock them in as official and start promoting? And speaking of promoting, is the tournament list still active and does anyone have access to it? Or should I post to the beta list instead?
In any case, the tournament will be known as the Welcome Back/Revival Tournament.
(edit: the Welcome Back/Revival Cup (the other name was too long to fit) is now open for registration on Hyko's (url="http://"http://www.flashracer.com/pop-pop/")Tournament Sytem page(/url). Go sign up now! (The date and time are still subject to change, based on what feedback I receive; and the time also based on if I find out I did the time zone conversion wrong... anyone can tell me what 9:30AM Pacific time really is in GMT?))

You have to sign up to play in a tournament?
I will definately try to be there, but I have loads of really boring things I must do on Saturday, so I can't say for sure. But I will sign in anyway, and do my best.
Danny: ...what 9:30AM Pacific time really is in GMT?
Well here are the times of the tourney in different zones based on a 'noon Eastern Time' start.
GMT (UK): 5.00pm
CET (Germany, France etc): 6.00pm
Eastern Time (New York): 12.00pm
Pacific Time (Washington): 9.00am
But I still say the earth is flat.
Yes pepperjack, you do have to sign up. But it is only Β10.00 and you can pay with PayPal if you wish.
Just kidding -(url="http://"http://pop-pop.webhop.net")Hyko's tourney site is free!(/url)

Okay. Is the sign up just to see how many will be playing in the tournament?

I think posting round both beta lists would be an excellent idea. If you can get hold of the old tourney list that would be good too, but I think that was lost in the midst of time.

Hopefully we can try again soon, on a Sunday instead.
