So who are the Latest Pop-pop Champions? Have there been any Tournaments lately? The only person I recognize on this board is Jinx.

As far as I know, there are no "official" rankings for pop-pop. I do know that some other prominent players are:
SHOES Number279 (or some other number) Ryoko Evmiester and a few others that I cannot recall.

Yes, the list is a little dated - many people don't play anymore Though I did play both Texas Girl and Honu online yesterday! Better add lumisa and nfm to the list of (very) good players - do you still play lumisa? Are you out there reading this?
Also Ambrosia's own (el) presidente is a very good player, when he can spare the time.
(hmmm... as are a lot of the rest of the ambrosia crew)
Wonder who I've offended by missing off now... Hyko above is too modest to put himself on the good list, but you can see that he's well above average from squibix's list...
Grudgingly, I also ought to add Demo 888 to the list of fairly good people, but he hasn't registered for over 15 months, so should be shunned... Mainly because a demo-induced disconnect half way through a really tense round is so annoying.
Speaking of which - is it worth us organising a tournament sometime in the not so distant future? I'd be willing to look after one if people are interested?

Yes! I was thinking the same thing... in fact, I was even contemplating holding one myself sometime around the beginning of next month. Of course, if someone else wants to do it that's even better!
Also, yeah, my rankings are sadly out of date. There was even one tournament since then that I never got around to including. But we have the email addresses of most people on the list, so if we get the tournaments going again we can at least tell them about it, and see if they want to still play. After all... 1.0.3 is out now! Isn't that what we were all waiting for?!

I'd love to play Andrew and you guys in a tournament but I'll have to wait till Windblowz Pop-pop to come out. I'm stuck w/ a Dell Inspirion for a while now. Also, I saw that Anklebiter is still on irc.ambrosia, I couldn't remember his name yesterday. What happened with his modhoood here? I liked him a lot.
Hey, I was just wondering if some of you were still at it. Tell me if you are still on please or if you see this person on (such as I had no idea that Texas Girl still played). Recently all I have been able to play is Ryoko, Jesse, and Demo 888 (and he has gotten good). Plus an occasional newb, but do they count? Jk!

Thanks for the mentions. I do still check the tracker and boards and I still have the occasional game. I would be up for a tourney sometime too if we could get enough players. This 'summer slump' has gone on for ages!

Sounds like a plan, of course, now 1.0.4 is in beta Fortunately they share the same tracker - or at least they do at the moment, so there won't be the huge split that occurred with 1.0.3b1..8
What would people say to a tournament sometime around the end of January? Too soon? Too far away?
Sweeet.... I got a PC version of Pop-pop. I look forward to trashing you all in any pop pop tournament you can muster. After I d/l the game itself and work out any kinks that may arise...

pepperjack is just a name that I have taken because I am too lazy to enter my registration code on here. If I see you on and play you I will tell you. I will be on to play Sunday and Monday this coming week. Hope to see you on the tracker! I'm guessing that you have beaten lots of people hundreds times so yea. Glad to see that you still play!
OMG... i just played the most enchanting japanese girl tonite. She whupped my ass almost everytime. By clearing! Clearing went the way of the Dodo because those jerks tweaked pop's gameplay...way back when... i was starting to match her, if only the server hadn't crashed... does anyone know ryoko's email address? I must play her again. :frown:

Happy new year to youy too, and good to hear you're still about! I'm on fairly randomly, and workload (both in and out of work) is high at the moment, so quite busy. Weekday evenings usually randomly after 6 or 7, except Thursday, and after 8 on Tuesday - I should be at least backgrounding it during those times. Pop-pop's irritating habit of slowing my machine even when backgrounded and switching to 1000's of colours makes work difficult though with it on. Obviously need to get one of these dual G5's - then I can play pop-pop and chew gum...
i know it´s an impossible time but i´m hosting a game right now and would love to find out how much i´ve forgotten...anybody up for it? (i think i´ll try tonight as well - after 8 or so...let´s see if i´ll manage to revitalise this addiction...)
