Custom music?

Just a question about the music for pop-pop.

The music that comes with the game is cool, and I noticed that they're all in MADK format. I have a few files (over 700 I believe) in the same format and similar formats (MOD, S3M, XM and such). Is it possible to replace the music with other files of the same type? The music is cool and all, but I'd like something different now and again.

I don't know anything about replacing the music files (though i assume it could be done). However, if the folder that labled 'songs' is renamed (any thing will do, for simplicity you could just call it asongs or something) then the music will not play in pop pop, and you can play your own tunes using whatever kind of a music player you might have (itunes, for example). Hope that helped!

Thanks for the reply,, but now there's no reason for it. I've figured it out myself. In fact, for some reason I feel like explaining what I did...

What I really want is something like what Mars Rising and Bubble Trouble have, where you can stick music into the "Music" folder and it will play the songs. With pop-pop, this is not the case.

It has a "Songs" folder in the "Data" folder, and, number one, it will only take MADK files (not MOD or XM or S3M or other module formats), and number two, if you want to put new files in the "Songs" folder for pop-pop to play, the new songs have to have the same name as the original songs, e.g. the new song that replaces J9_TOUR.MADK will also have to be renamed J9_TOUR.MADK.

So... are there any plans to change this in the near future?

You've got me interested now. How do I convert my tunes into the MADK format?

If you insist...

First off, I must note that THIS DOESN'T WORK WITH MP3s, so I'm assuming you have some modules (MOD, S3M, XM, IT, whatever...).

If you do, then you need (url="http://"http://www.quadmation.com/pphome")PlayerPRO.(/url) Follow the link and go to the download section to download it. It's for Classic and OSX. If you don't happen to have any modules, the PP site has some links to module sites.

PlayerPRO not only plays all kinds of music files (though there are some more that I wish it played...), but it's also a mod tracker. It only saves mods in MADK format, though you can export to other formats. However, this is quite useful if we're trying to convert to MADK. All you have to do is save the module and it will will be saved as a MADK. You don't even need to make any changes to it.

This IS assuming that you have a registered version of PP, or that you downloaded the new open-source version.
