anklebiter has no reason to pay me for anything, in fact I have never even spoken directly to him. The truth of the matter is, he has tried to let things go, and if EVERYONE did that then maybe we could all discuss our opinions on tournaments, which is what the majority of the community seems to want in the end...
Heck, if I had the power, I'd start up a new thread, listen to what people had to say about these tournaments/get-togethers, and remove anything other than the focus of the discussion, but alas, I'm no moderator, and beyond that, I don't have the time to facilitate pop-pop tournaments.

And now that they have seen I won't kiss their butt, they are going out to destroy the pop-pop tournaments, by creating their own so they can do it "their own way." Again, it is sad that this is what they want, is to make something crumble.

To prove one of my points, they complained that having too many tournaments would be bad, and now what did they do? They start hosting their own, knowing that I host a minimal of 1 a week, when they said themselves that too many tournaments isn't a good thing.

dear anklebiter. please try to read this without thinking of me as your enemy. please tell me, where did i do something destructive? you know perfectly well, that everything i wrote was about pop-pop and to save the fun we had with it. i never took part in any boycott and never tried to destroy anything. again, sorry for repeating myself, we were asked to post our ideas about tournament rules, and we did. as far as i know you ignored every one of them, because i think NONE of your rules were changed. NONE! everything i asked for, and that was absolutely not to offend you, was a second round - which isn´t even in my favor, because it would make it harder for me to win. if i insulted you with this wish, i am really sorry. i didn´t mean to. the second thing i asked for was to use hykos site. NOT because it is HIS and not yours, but because it was the first to be finished and ready to use (i even said that we could of course change to yours as soon as its finished) and because i wanted to protect you (or any other host), the players and the tournament from discussions like the one after that tournament, -the one that started all this. i can slightly understand your personal reasons for not wanting to use hykos (or anybody elses)site. but those are reasons that have nothing to do with pop-pop - and pop-pop should be what it´s all about. but ok, you don´t want to use his site, i guess we will have to accept that. but i would really like to know, why didn´t you agree to a second round? please tell me just one good reason, and i will, i promise, never ask for a second round again. and why did you say we would have one, and then change your mind? my last question is, who are the players "we" chased off? the only players i can see that have been chased of, are those you are accusing. i have spend much to much time playing pop-pop, and i think i have quite an idea of how many players there were, and who played most frequently. the less frequent players probably don´t even follow the war that is going on here.

crono didn´t offer to host to offend you. crono didn´t offer to host to have ONE MORE tournament. you know that. he probably was still thinking of these tournaments to be "our" tournaments. not EITHER yours or somebody elses. "they" and i guess this description of all evil includes me, said that less tournaments would make YOUR tournaments more special and desirable. again - no offence. do we really have to chose between your tournaments and the ones where our ideas of better rules are accepted? wouldn´t you like these two possibilities to be put in one? have your tournaments with ALL of our ideas (including yours) on rules?

Frisco, I apologise for my "Frisco, I hope ankle-biter paid you handsomely" remark, it was stupid.
But your opinions on recent events would perhaps be a lot different if you were more attune to what has been going on. The manner in which you strolled into this Pop-Pop discussion as if we were a bunch of louts and anklebiter was the just and fair moderator who had been unfairly judged, was annoying to say the least.

From what I can tell from the board (which I read occasionally, and am only reading now due to being asked to by Danny) the "ignorant masses" ( :p) are not very happy. But with such quotes as "I thought things like this wouldn't exist in free countries," you must be able to think that just a few people are being a teensy-weensy bit overdramatic.
Now don't get me wrong. Maybe anklebiter isn't listening to people's opinions. Do you always take into account everything everyone else says? Maybe he is deleting stuff that insults him. Would you delete stuff that offended you and personally insulted you in front of the world? I know I would.
But don't get me wrong, maybe I am getting the wrong end of the stick (having hardly played pop-pop) and anklebiter is the Nazi that he is portrayed as. But is he not allowed to ignore other people's suggestions?
And should it completely destroy an otherwise fun internet community? From what I can see, you've all stopped playing pop-pop (sort of :D) just because some guy who made some tournaments for you screwed up. Can't you just get on with it? It's only a game! You can play by whatever rules you want. If he's being a twat, ignore him and don't play in his tournaments (ok, he's not doing them but you get the picture) Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they're a repressive Nazi bastard now, does it?

Don't worry, we're far from destroyed. In fact, speaking only for myself I've been playing rather more lately, and all this silliness has let me get to know some of the other players better. So there's plenty of silver lining and all that.

Did you read a thread or better questioned: are You able to follow the whole thing, do you have the complete picture? Although this type of communication is very virtual, there are some basic rules of behaviour that should even exist in this type of communication. And the people were REALLY upset, because it is REAL fun they had playing pop-pop in a community with many REALLY very kind people, who ALL have a real life and talk about REAL things... What I want to say: I can understand that it has become a little bit overdramatic for "both" parties. (And somehow I have the feeling you know it too. Or at least You know what is needed to help a little bit that it happens.)

Hope that the people who use the word "Nazi" have the slightest idea what it stands for... AFAIK, nobody except You said something like this about anklebiter. He is allowed to ignore them and to argue against them but he is IMHO not allowed to use his power on the board to censor opinions that are against his personal opinion but not against the rules of the board.
Nobody stopped playing AFAIK. But did you ever think about the importance of a central asynchronous communication channel for the existence of an internet-community? In this case, do you know how important this channel is to organise tournaments for more people than the known inner circle? Having such a board under control means to have full power over the community...

It is really a pity that we can't meet to have a real life beer all together somewhere, to bypass the disadvantages of this medium (and eventually existing language barriers, e.g. mine) and to solve this whole topic more efficiently... In fact, had I known that there were people who didn't know Danny and squibix were one and the same, I would have made it more obvious: whenever I think there might be some doubt I sign things - Danny (squibix). I like people to know who they're dealing with! There was never any distinction between the two names: squibix is just what I use when I need a moniker that's a little more unique.
