I got my copy of OS 10.2 Friday afternoon (a full five hours before everybody else) and installed it. pop-pop won't run anymore. I click on its icon in the Dock, it switches the screen to 640x480 and then crashes. Here for anybody that might be able to use it is the crash log:

Strange -- I use pop-pop on 10.2 all of the time (though granted I run "in a window" mode). Can you post your system config details (along with the video card you have). Thanks.

Right. Here we go: iBook May 2002, 700 MHz, 12.1" screen. CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo drive 384 MB RAM ATI Radeon Mobility with 16 MB VRAM 20 GB hard disk
Hope this helps! I miss playing pop-pop.
I'm having the same problem right now, and I can't change to 'run in a window' if it keeps crashing! It worked well before I upgraded to Jagwire. :frown:

Strange. Running fine here on a pismo PB with system 10.2.
------------------ If you think I'm being mean, please tell me. I was actually going for NASTY!!
One of my X-savvy friends suggested that pop-pop is trying to do calls to certain graphic libraries that no longer exist...
It also fails to execute in Classic. Damn, this is annoying! You would think that Ambrosia wouldn't be one to use closed APIs...
hello dave and coxy,
can you list everything that happens before the crash please.
does pop fade the screen to black? does pop switch the screens res to 640x480? does pop fade the screen back to blue? do you see the ambrosia logo before the crash?
coxy, was that everything in the console log from the time you launched till pop crashed? if not could you post the complete log of that period please?
do either of you have multiple monitors? aftermarket video cards?
thanks
wrangler

problem solved. its my bug and hopefully it'll be fixed in the next release. there is a work around now though.
the problem is that you dont have write permission for the pop files. this could be because you installed pop as a different user or because you copied the instal from another machine or some other reason.
so to get pop to work now you have 2 choices:
many thanks to coxy who help squash this bug.
