Easy? Normal? Hard? Expert?

When you download pop-pop, and hopefully play a few solo versus games to get the idea of how to play (along with reading the excellent help section) - you decide it's time for net play.

But what difficulty should you start at?

Well, here are some general net play tips (and other beta testers please chime in here):

1. Normal is pretty much where most gamer types should start at -easy is really there for people who have really bad hand-eye coordination, or those who don't play games too often.

2. Move to hard setting when your normal net games go longer than... say... 10 minutes - which doesn't seem like long until you're staring at the screen as hard as you must for that long in order to not die. Or - if you can clear the screen and your opponent hasn't even reached the top layer of bricks.

3. Once hard seems like normal - time to move up to expert. Things get very quick here, so be sure to keep the lower part of your screen clear, otherwise a few triple dropper power downs and you're toast! pop-pop toast!

It can be very frustrating for a player used to playing at hard level to play games at normal. Charging times are longer, brick drops are slower, and there are fewer power downs heading your way.

The only mode I have trouble with is the easy mode. It is like slow motion for me. One thing I noticed is that some pops retain the same level of power in the different difficulty modes, some don't. Ducky, Ioni, Mr Man.. ect.. keep the same level of attack. Other pops like bombastic really increase in the level of attack. Thus another reason I love bombastic, especially attacking like 6 times in a row in hard mode...

sounds good jinx, that about sums up how i feel about it

as jinx said, if you have to start at easy for net games, well, er, ya...
i only used easy i think 2-3 times when i first played the game (in solo)

Novice games are way too slow for me. My first net game with Mazca might have lasted about 45 minutes or more in Novice.

I started out in "Easy" at first, just because I wanted to learn how to play it. After playing several Easy and Normal games, I moved into Hard, and after that was boring ( ;)), I started in on Expert.

However, I played a multiplayer game versus someone (I can't remember who) and got stomped... that was before I played a lot more. Now I'm a veritable pop-pop diety. Hurrah. 🙂

Right now I right between hard and normal. Normal is pretty easy, but hard is pretty hard. I'm playing hard, and eventuly I'll get it. But, don't play easy except to learn. I played 2 20 minute games with WhiteFire (on easy), the first he cleared his screen, and the second, I had to eat. It was a stalemate. And the ball moved soooo slowly.
