What are the weirdest things that happened to YOU in Hera?

To start things off, the funniest/wierdest thing I ever did was to make incoming enemy missiles fire a weapon (that should have been a turreted fast laser :)) that was located on my ship at me!

Beat that. 😉

Yes, I managed to create weapons which only the enemy could fire on your ship as well. That damned 'reflexive' flag, right?

Apart from having duels with a computer, firing each other's weapons, I'd say the strangest thing I've ever had occur was playing a small level I created, getting blown up, and ending up trapped in an asteroid. Weird.

I somehow got an explosion sequence to orbit the player ship once.

That happens to me to. The number of ships goes over the limit, you blow up, and the computer starts zinging you through all the ships in the system, transfering you to every object on the screen in the time of about 10 seconds.

That might have been the cause, though I ended up trapped in just one asteroid for at least five minutes before I quit. Strange.

Orbiting explosion sequence? That would be quite a useful thing to replicate. I can think of a few uses for orbiting effects.

Ok, the wierdest thing was when a sequence, which should have worked, didn't. In response, I changed it and it worked. Then, later it didn't work. Get the picture? It's like.... arghh...

I got trapped in a Gamma Pulse once, rather annoying. Especially considering that they expire.

Quoting myself from 6/4/2000,

I just organised a scenario with Hera, Space Race The Musical with the roles reversed and the fleets sizes doubled. I start to make the Jump to hyperspace and instead of a warp flare, each ship emits a tiny yet powerful explosion. This destroys or cripples most of my ships and obliterates all of my fighters. Then, on dropping out of hyperspace the remnants of my fleet are destroyed by the same phenomina.
Thinking this was a one off, I tried a one player campaign mission. The same occurs, but when I explode the little dead man is replaced by a huge fireball which dissapates within seconds leaving the camera to focus on a Cantharan gunship.
Any ideas/solutions?

When you created your scenario, you forgot to add in a warp in/warp out flare, and intsead it must have chosen one randomly which happened to be a damaging explosion. You also forgot to make the player's body, and so it just put you in a fireball. Once you expired, it just simply put you in another sprite without activating the level's end.

Ah, the truth is revealed.

Now remember everyone: Not choosing player bodies, warp flares, and energy can lead to extremely funky effects.

-laser that goes back on itself until it kills you
-spyrographs with lasers (very amusing)
-****ed up weapon that turns you into a pulse and then you die...

lotsa other stuff, most of the time i do it on purpose though...

Try transferring control to a transport as it's landing. You get stuck in random things. It's a great way to look at battles. Also this happens when your 'Player Body' comes out of a ship and you don't transfer control in time. I have been able to take control of an Engineering Pod (Wierd), a Flak drone (Even Wierder) and a weapon on a ship (This was really wierd. Bein an engineer pod was bad enough, but I was a Lepton Beam Cannon - sheesh
