I like the first one a lot, but the sleekness of the hull clashes a bit with the regidity of the aqua plating. Smooth that out a bit and add some detailed texture to the main hull, and you'll have a very nice-looking fighter.

Personally, I find them a touch flat... but #1 looks promising. I agree with Slug's suggestions as well.

I hold to my belief that with appropriate tinkering number 2 is better.

#1 is best, though the main body should be thickened (It looks a bit too much like a pancake) and the aqua plating should seem to be imbedded in the hull. Also add some detail to the main hull, and it should look great.
