Ask Slug II

I don't care if it's installation problems, mission plot problems, even in-game problems, two words: Ask Slug! 🙂

Ok, let's pretend there are three planets:

  1. IF SUBJECT (planet 1) IS OWNED BY PLAYER (your player number)
    --THEN ALTER: CONDITION TRUE YET: CONDITION: 2

  2. IF SUBJECT (planet 2) IS OWNED BY PLAYER (your player number)
    INITIALLY INACTIVE flag checked on
    --THEN ALTER CONDITION TRUE YET: CONDITION: 3

  3. IF SUBJECT (planet 3) IS OWNED BY PLAYER (your player number)
    INITIALLY INACTIVE flag checked on
    --THEN DECLARE WINNER (your player number)

I can make it so that it takes into account when the enemy player captures them back, but I'm too tired right now.

And if there are multiple opposing players, duplicate the exact same thing for each opposing player.

I got it to work! Now it works just like chapter 19. Also, I fixed that problem with my other level that had the problem with the destroying of all of the ships.

How do you create something that, on expiration, creates a neutral object?

Give the object that's supposed to be neutral a create sequence that makes it neutral (i.e.: commanded by player -1)

How large should a gateship sprite ( the individual frames, not the total ) be?
I've got a ship design I'm working on, and it's somewhat complex.

I don't want to make the sprite too small, as the detail on the bumpy sections might be lost, but I don't want to make it too large, for obvious memory reasons (how many people with <64MB RAM play Ares, I don't know but it's probably a lot).

If you recall from Ask Slug I, I had a question about a carrier that I wanted to capture. You said to make a bunker station with a carrier sprite. I tried that, and when I kill the carrier, it says: Carrier lost by Prophets of Salril, and then the carrier disappears. What happened?

Make sure both NEUTRAL DEATH and DON'T DIE WHEN DESTROYED flags are checked. As for the "Carrier lost by the prophets of Salril" thing, I can't help that. That's the Neutral Death flag doing it's evil.

what do i do when it says as ares is starting up and im trying a new mission:
can not manage any more sprite tables
this forces me to quit :frown:
also when it says

this doesnt do anything noticable but is realy annoying. Is there any way to fix these? Why do they happen? and what is happening?
