i tried to register garendall today and the woman on the phone said the game was "temporarily removed for recoding" or something to that effect, anyone got any ideas as to why?????

Due to some weird OS bug, no Coldstone games are going to work on Panther at this time. However, an update is in progress as I belive Ambrosia is now in posession of the PoG/CS source code, and we should see an update by the summer. In the meantime, have fun playing in what areas you can reach, and if you get the temptation to pirate, just ignore it. That's all.

i'm not even running panther, i've got OS 9.2.2, why couldn't they just keep supporting it for those of us who don't have to worry about the panther problem?????????? arrrrgggg!!! i've explored every square inch of the accessible areas and i just want to play the game!!!!!
as for pirating the software, i don't do that with ambrosia products as they are reasonably priced, quality products, other software companies that don't meet these two prerequisites, however, are another story....
If you can't register even if you want to...yeah, I had the same 'temptation'.
If you really want to register, go bug moki (andrew@ambrosiasw.com), and complain to him that PoG works fine for you and just want to register the damn thing already.
The whole reason of stopping PoG being registered by anyone, no matter if they use Panther, and earlier version of Mac OS or windows, was to force Beenox to do something. Many of us CS developers have sent countless emails to beenox asking for bug fixes and new features. And nobody has heard nothing. AFAIK Carm has fixed a lot of bugs she can reproduce easily. Whether this includes the Panther Bug I don't know but I guess that it does as it is the whole reason for the update. Just hang tight.
I'm sure that when the beta of the CS update gets sent out to the beta testers it will only be a few weeks before CS is updated. I'm not sure how long after that before PoG is updated. Depends if Carm is going to do the Panther fix and other bug fixes as one update or seperate updates.

Has there been any further update as to when PoG might be fixed? I was just recently having a hankering to play after a long absence frrom the game and discovered that I can't with Panther
Has anyone had success playing it in the Classic mode? If so, how can you do it?

With Classic started, get info on the PoG application and select "Open in the classic environment," then start it. As for the update being finished...look for Coldstone in late summer and then PoG probably shortly after.

More accurately, the place where the licensing information is stored is system dependant, you need to reenter your code with the registration app launched under Classic too. Actually, I already requested an updated code from lostcodes and this is what it said where the code should have been: invalid.
Onodrim, please post exactly what you have done on the "Help on the Way" forum and David Dunham or somebody else who has experience will tell you how to make it work. I'm on OS 9.2 and don't really know what you're missing here. You may have to trash your prefs or make sure "open in Classic" is checked or something else. But if you have paid for the game you certainly should be able to play it.
When you post there, give them all the details of what OS, how you entered the new code, and what messages you get.
