When I used to program for EVO, my favourite tool (apart from Mc) was the evo map maker by Bomb (i think it was him?)
It let you make syst, spob, desc etc and displayed it exactly as it would look in the game, letting you explore your own planets etc. ######ing brilliant.
Is there is anything like that for nova?
Gav
EVO Map Developer (which I assume you're referring to) was made by a different chap; Pontus or Pontius or something like that.
At any rate, I don't think EVN has anything like that yet, unfortunately.

EV Developer's Map and EVO Developer's Map were by Pontus Ilbring. I don't know of anything similar to the latter's spöb-simulation mode for EV Nova.
But MC 4 has a click-to-place syst editor.

MC 4? Isn't the latest 3.3?

Try scrolling down a bit.

On what's presumably his page view, it's the next page over.
So does 3.x, for that matter, though it isnt nearly as intuitive.

MC 3 had/has an almost-click-to-place syst editor.
I never ran into the map editor you're referring to, because at my age at the time I wasn't really doing any developing beyond super-killer beam weapons.
(Tangent: I remember that these kept disappearing when I landed and went to an outfitter, and I couldn't figure out why, so instead of trying to fix the problem I'd always just give the shuttle one of them standard and go buy a new shuttle, and then avoid the outfitter.)
However, something like that would be absolutely excellent to have for Nova.
Edit: woops, DA beat me to it.
