No, this is not your imagination, nor is the end of the world following your reading of this post (at least I hope not). Yes, a TC has just hit beta. Because of this, I am looking for testers, logically. Since the TC will likely be played by a variety of players, I'm looking for a diverse group of testers. Everywhere from good to bad at combat. Everywhere from plug-in developers to those who don't even know how to open a plug.
In order to sign up, either post or PM me the following information.
What system are you on? (Mac or PC) How good are you at Nova's combat, without escorts/cheats/plugs? How much development plug-in experience do you have? How available do you expect to be during the duration of the beta? Note it could last anywhere from a few days to a few months.
You don't have to have 'X' in any field to be accepted. Again, I'm looking for a diverse group, so I'm hoping I can get players from all ends of the spectrum. All those accepted into the beta will be PMed with further instructions. Sign-ups will when I either stop getting submitions or I have enough people. I will post a notice when sign-ups end.
Additionally, this has been posted on the Nova board.
Edit: You'll need a registered copy of Escape Velocity Nova and the 1.0.10 version to participate.

What system are you on? (Mac or PC) Macbook How good are you at Nova's combat, without escorts/cheats/plugs? Very good! How much development plug-in experience do you have? I've worked with Tim Isles on his plug, MacDevil on Unity P1 and P2, Uncle Twitchy on Starfleet Adventures How available do you expect to be during the duration of the beta? Note it could last anywhere from a few days to a few months. I am availiable after 6pm on Monday through Friday.
I have a registered copy of EVN 1.0.10.
I have recieved a fair number of candidates and am now closing sign-ups. Of course, you can still try to get in, but now the odds will be heavily stacked against you. I will now review the submitions. Those picked should recieve a PM within the next 24 hours
Though I am tempted, I think I'll pass on this. I'd like to see how the hypergate fits in, but I'd be little use for beta testing, and as long as the final release is relatively soon I think I'll be fine just playing that. It's great to see CTC doing well.
I have finalized my choices and sent out the PMs to those accepted. It was difficult making the choices from so many candidates, that was alot of people to turn down, all of them good potential testers from what I could see. If you were not accepted, please understand being decline is not personal. It is possible you may not have made it simply because you were on a Mac (the Mac to PC ratio in submitions was quite large), among other simple things. However, if you were not accepted, you still have chance to test in the future. All people turned down are potential candidates to replace anyone who drops out. Your names and submition posts/PMs have been saved and will be retained for the duration of the testing period.
Please personal relations were not even considered. Nobody was accepted merely because they were my friend. Nobody was rejected because I didn't know them. All decisions were based soley upon the four criteria I requested (platform, combat skill, development skill, and availability).
Accepted or not, thank you for making a submition to become a tester.
@Crusader: I could always take a screenshot with the hypergate, though I haven't quite gotten it to loop properly yet.
I'm not here for 5 seconds (gross exaggeration), and look what happens. Aww man.
