Since most of the content to which youre referring was released under conditions that allowed it to be redistributed, it is therefore probably legal for people to post it, but it certainly has nothing to do with whether theyre Canadian or not. Though Canadian copyright law hasnt matched the absurdities practised in some other countries, it still exists, and gives its full protection even to files posted on the Internet; if youve been told otherwise, I suggest you find a new layer.
