I,m just wondering....I mean I dont even know what the insomnia thig is about...but I quaffed a dozen boot polish potions and to no avail...and the snake repellent...whats that about? just curious p.s. I just noticed, a certain sword shank lacks a path until you talk to the guy in fantrima, is this some unavoidable aspect in coldstone? again, just curious. ------------------ edit - spell checking edit2 - added p.s. The only potion that does anything is the Jumping Bean Extract. As for your second question, I'm not sure what you mean.

Have you been bothered by any snakes after using Snake Repellant? See, it must work. Read the descriptions. An independent laboratory has yet to confirm that any actual increase in speed occurs when using Boot Polish. But I'll bet that your boots look pretty good. Probably better than mine. Incidentally, you should not drink Boot Polish. It is for external application only!
In some sophistocated circles, Doc might be considered a charlatan. He claims that evil creatures caused the failure of his business but there might be other reasons too. Have you ever heard the expression, "Let the buyer beware?" The good thing is that you can sell all of his unique products to other unsuspecting merchants.
About your p.s.: The read-me says, "To start, go to Fantrima and find a man walking near the fountain." This is not "some unavoidable aspect in coldstone" but rather a necessary measure to prevent certain things from happening too soon. The new areas for DiD do not open up until you have met and talked with Harold.

Heh, ok... I am enjoying the plug-in immensely by the way. the shank however isn't in a 'new' area hence my confusion, does that mean none of the toadstools appear in the game until you talk to harold? This could actually be quite useful for someone (i.e. me ;)) who installed 3 plugs with new missions. Thanks for the info!

The shank is in an area which existed but was blocked prior to DiD. Try taking a new character and going there without DiD installed. You cannot enter that portion of the map in the standard game or with the Trinity plugin. But you can see it with the Ranger's Eagle Eye. No sword part rests on soil which is accessable without having DiD installed.
If I remember correctly how I did this, no toadstools will grow before you have had the first introduction to Harold.
nods cool this was purely a matter of curiosity for me. I'm not restarting with no plug-ins installed just for the sake of conversation however, as i recall that portion of the map was accessable and the trees add to the farthest north of that map section were not in the way of hitting the south side of the knight ranch. ACk! did i just commit a spoiler? ah well its the easiest piece to find anyway, the tip i've found twice but still have to look for... i know i used to be able to hit that portion of the map north and two of those northern trees look a little different (not that there was anything useful there)

It would take only five minutes to test this and you don't even have to kill a single goblin. Just go south from Fantrima to the second square. There is no way into that area without using Spells Expander's Relocate, Blink, or Portal. (Or some cheat like an app. called "Pandora's Box" - not to be confused with the spell of the same name - which could boost your speed to about 300 to crash through the trees. Incidentally, that is how I first got into there and other unaccessable areas.) SE's Portal does it because Stark designed the spell to send you to the center of every square. When I told him about it, he chuckled and decided to let it go because there was an escape route by going north. I added trees because I did not want players ending up in Septemris's yard.
To make this area available I had to get out my machete and carve a path through the trees where the arrow sign now points. The same is true for the areas north and south of the river portal. Other excursions off the beaten path required changing the access of every movement tile within the space I wanted to reclaim, as in the place where Chazwit lives or the clearing where Princess Jadyn is held in Perugo Forest. Some squares required altering the access on several thousand movement tiles and each tile had to be done individually. Each tile is about the size of a toadstool.
