How do you do it?
Alright, I know how to convert sounds to system 7 format and put them in a plug, but how do you make them? Does anyone know of a good (preferably free) program for making sounds?
The most popular one used (that I know of) by this forum's members is GarageBand. I myself use Adobe Audition, but that's only because I have it at my work.
EDIT: there are also websites that have sounds already on them. Try Sound America

Wiretap/Wiretap Pro for recording sound within your computer; Quicktime, iMovie, and others for recording external sound. GarageBand and others for creating your own sound, but without a MIDI keyboard it's basically useless.
Great, thanks. Out of curiosity, what program did ATMOS use when they made sounds?
