I'm not a happy camper. :frown:
Took my Lv. 26 conjuror to play DiD. Been playin' for 3 days now. Had 150+ toadstools, the entire note and was about to set out to rescue the first princess.
Game froze. Happens. I lose a little, but I save frequently so it's usually no big deal. Had saved frequently as always. But when I restarted the program .... my saved file didn't load.
It's on my desktop (Mac). I click on it, it loads. Asks what plug-ins (Did, Trinity, SE and WoC). I click "OK". And I go to the opening PoG screen. Again I click load and the file. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
Can anyone help?

Can you open any other PoG character files? If yes, then this file may have a problem. If no, then the app has a problem. If you wish, e-mail me the game file and I'll see if it opens here. I usually just double click the game file to resume play. Have you tried that?

Yes, I can open others. I, too, simply double click the file.
I always make back-up files at certain points along the way, so I still have my Lv. 26 conjuror. Unfortunately, I hadn't yet backed up DiD. So I've started a new file, which I will back up at the end of each day. (big sigh)
Thanks so much for your kind offer, Ducky, but if something's wrong with the file I don't wanna take a chance on it causing problems for anyone else. But youz a sweetie for askin'.

I'm runnin' OS 9.2.2 on a G4. We're a dual platform household. I'm Mac, hubby's Windoze.

Just a side note-If you were ever considering upgrading to X, don't do it until Ambrosia/Beenox (grrr) comes out with an update. PoG (like all other Coldstone games) runs poorly (save game bug) under Jaguar and not at all under Panther. Just wanted to point that out.

I'm holding out for as long as possible, tho' I think it's inevitable since newer games are being written for X.

Not quite true. Members can access Pending Chronicles and Progress logs. I use progress logs often to see how Redline is doing. But I'll remove the War Room link. And you do have my email address. I sent you an email regarding DiD before I registered.

I prefer the upcoming page for that; I only visit the progress log main page for nostalgic purposes.
