Is there a M2S-type program for windows that convets .mov's into sprites? Alternatively, is there another method that we windows-users could use? Thanks
You might try looking for something that converts them to animated GIFs, which would can then be turned into sprites via a Photoshop macro...
...though there is probably a better solution than this. Still, I've used something similar to what I've just mentioned, which is why I suggested it.
Thanks. Any ideas on where I could get such a program?
or better yet, can you give a short tut on how one might take, say, a milkshape model and use you method to get it to EVN format? only thing i can figure so far is to take the 36 images and compile them into a mask and a sprite by hand with photoshop.....

Yeah, that's what I do now, which isn't all that bad, since each frame is the same size, but it is tedious, especially if I end up doing many ships. A tutorial of that sort would be helpful.

on that method, how do you do engine glows and weapon-firing animations? I am currently working with adding ships into nova for the first time, i have experience in both the previous EVs, having done many small-scale projects i never released, but i have never tried anything serious for nova (except once, and that failed because of my lack of ability to recruit some aid, but that's a fferent story)
I've actually got similar experience. I did much tinkering with EVC, and I've done a lot with Nova, though nothing ever released. I haven't even thought about engine glows yet, as I've only had Lightwave for a short while and I can't even get my ship sprites to work
