Shield/Armour ratings

as seen in shipyard info

How would I make shield and armour ratings appear at 1 tenth their actual spec, when displayed in the shipyard infos (like in EVO)?

You don't. Nova doesn't work like that. Why do you want to?

To have a 'small' shield/armour value. Suppose you want ships with low armour or shield values: say 5. Seeing as the lowest damage a weapon can do is 1, it would be stupid to have armour as low as '5' because cannon/turrets on would kill them too easy. Therefore you set it to 50, in fact you multiply every shield and armour value by 10, and make it appear only a tenth of this in the shipyard. So, it would be '5' in the shipyard, but for the purpose of dmg it is in fact 50. I just prefer the look of '5' to '50', or '130' to '1300' for UI purpose.

Well, you just can't with Nova. Unless you really wish to be anal about it and make a "fake" ship in the shipyard, that is swapped with the actual ship with an ncb operator when you buy it.

If you did that then you would lose the outfits which are not "persistent"

Actually, you can change ships using ncbs without switching the outfits on the ship. I don't remember exactly which one it is, but it's definately there.

Another reason to read the Nova bible multiple times and closely.

I think the one you're thinking of is this:

Quote

Cxxx - change the player's ship to ship type (ID) xxx. The player will keep all
of his previous outfit items and won't be given any of the default
weapons or items that come with ship type xxx.

I think I need to read the bible 🙂
