Requisition Escort?

Mentioned in the bible, but how?

In the Nova Bible, there's mention of a 'Requisition Escort' dialog somewhere, and I'm wondering how such a thing is triggered. I've certainly never seen it, but hints seem to point to it existing in some form or another. The Nova Bible has the aforementioned hint, and EVC datafiles include graphics for a Requisition Escort button.

I know it's sort of possible to do this with missions that give escorts, but those ones are nonupgradeable and don't behave quite like escorts integrated into your own fleet do.

**In EVC it's just an evil little red herring. Or a leftover graphic from an unused feature. In EVN, I have no idea if they decided to include it, but I doubt it.

I believe it's just another name for the hire-escort dialog in the bar.

My theory is that these (there are others mysterious buttons) were to be added in the bar if the player had dominated the stellar in question.

Yes, I think that's what the spare buttons in the old games were for, but I've looked at the references to 'requisition escort' in the Nova Bible, and they seem to refer to the hire-escort dialog.

Perchance, what did these spare buttons say?

The only ones I can remember are the ones that said "Buy a Drink" and "Wormhole."

The Buy a Drink button was actually technically left in the game -- but it was outside the viewable range of the dialog box. I actually used it as a sort of header graphic in a plug-in once...(never released it though as it didn't really have a purpose)

There was one that said "Back Room".

Yeah, that's the one that made me think it was to be in the bar...
