PlugChecker 1.16 vs PlugChecker 1.5.1

Need help.

I can't get PlugChecker 1.16 to work with EVO. Does it ? I've done a search on this board, and it seems to be split 50/50 on if it works or not.

A step from the Read Me File is to "- Load your current version of the standard EV files with the menu command Update EV Files". Well, there is no Update EV Files menu command,. There is only the Open Plug, Open Data as Pluguin, and Load EV Files.

But if I try to do any of those, it keeps asking me to "please locate EV Data file". And when I open the EVO folder, no files show up in the window.

Help.

Also, I did an internet search, and it seems there is a PlugChecker 1.5.1. Is it available? Does anyone have it?

Is there a better mousetrap?

Well I have Plug Checker, not sure which version but it works with Override. In addition to the menu commands you listed there is a "Load Override Files". I don't have it here at the moment though - I'll have to wait 'til this evening.

I don't have the option to "Load Override Files".

Read me says:
1 First, all the standard EV files (EV Data, EV Titles, EV Graphics and EV Sounds) must be in the same folder, just as they are when playing EV. Furthermore, this folder must also contain a folder named “EV Plug-Ins” which itself contains the EV Tuner file.
I did this. But I don't have a EV Tuner file for EVO.

2 Load your current version of the standard EV files with the menu command Update EV Files (you won't need to do this each time you launch Plug Checker, unless you want to use another version of EV).
There is no menu command Update EV Files.

3 Open the EV plug-in of your choice with the Open Plug-in menu command.
I can get to the Open Plug-in menu command, but it shows an empty Plugin folder.

I followed the above exactly, but I feel like I am supposed to do something else also.

I appreciate any input.

Okay, PlugChecker 1.16 was released in September 1997 while Override was released in April 1998. So no, I don't think 1.16 works with Override. I'm sure I picked up my version from the addons pages though - maybe it got lost at the same time all the dates got screwed up. I'll try and remember to upload it tonight. DYNA Systems appears to no longer exist so I've no way to contact them about it.

I did a web search for PlugChecker, and only found a year old site for ixoft.com. It said "Old DYNA Systems stuff is no longer hosted by iXoft. See Ambrosia's website for Escape Velocity plug-ins and tools." The PlugChecker I DL'd last week from the EV Addons page is the 1.16 version from 1997. The ixoft site shows at one time there was a 1.5.1 version. Do you think that is the version some of the people here are using? Thanks.

I've just uploaded 1.5 to the addons page, but it'll probably take a day or two to appear so I'll include it here as well.

(EDIT): Gah! This attach file thing doesn't seem to be working for me. Sorry, you'll have to wait for it to come up on the addons page.

Guy,
Thanks for the help. I really didn't expect such speedy response since most people are busy with Nova. Could you email it to me? wondercat@kendra.com
If you can't, I'll wait to DL it.
