Told myself I wouldn't do this...
... but has anyone made graphics for a fighter that might go along with the Kestrel? I'm building a plug that expands on where the Kestrel comes from (among other things) and I'd like to add some fighters.
I don't have any sort of 3d graphics software, and my comp is such that I don't think it'd run very well anyway. I was doing graphics in photoshop, but I'm getting tired of the close up work. And besides, my eyes are killing me.
Full props and a char will be given to anyone willing to help me out. Thanks.
Do you happen to mean the Lightning from EV: Classic?
In the original game, the Kestrel came with two Lightning Fighter-Bombers. The graphics from Classic wouldn't mesh well with Nova, but I happen to have been modeling imitations of those in Mechanisto, as practice. I've been using them for myself in the "Classic for Nova" TC. The Lightning is one of the ships I did.

There was a 3D sprites plug-in for the original EV. It was reasonably good - the lightning shouldn't look too bad in Nova. Can't seem to find it right now, but I'll post a link if I do.
(EDIT) Here it is: Ev Better Graphics 1.0.1 On second glance it might not look so good in Nova, but take a look anyway.
Or here's one that's been designed for the Nova port and may fit a little better: EV4Ngrfx There, now you've got three versions.

For the moment, I've changed my Avatar to an image of the Lightning that I made with Mechanisto, so you have something to compare. If you'd like, I can e-mail a small file with just the lightning's graphics to you.
Attachment removed to consolidate space.

That'd be Atinoda, and I don't think they made any fighters in EVC (which is, after all, where the Kestrel came from, even in EVN. Matt Burch's përs says "I think I took a wrong turn at Palshife", after all...)
Yes, I know there aren't any ones already in the game that are made by the same company. That's why I'm interested in adding one.
I also know where the Kestrel came from according to the ATMOS gods, I'm an EV player from way back. I've just been toying with some other explanations (aliens, timewarps, wormholes, etc.) I want to add a fighter which would fit into this scenario.
Modify the Lightning? What would you do to change it?
Perhaps something like this?

Dirr...? What did you do to it?
Matthew Dailey's site, which appears to be down at the moment, once had a few Atinoda-ish fighters.
Check it out here, if it comes back up: http://www.grand-novice.com/EVES-site/ Or use the wayback machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20010430201144/...tuff_human.html
I can also host the preview for a little bit, until his site comes back up. The Raptor, which you probably want, is in the middle. On the right is his re-model of the original EV's Kestrel.

That's it, Regulus. Do you happen to know matt's email if he has one off the grand-novice site? Thanks.
The grand-novice site only provided an e-mail form: http://www.grand-nov.../emailform.html
You could also try his Web Board member page: http://www.ambrosias...hp?showuser=586 Although I don't think he's posted in a number of years.
To be honest with you, I think your best bet would be to follow the Wayback link I included. You can still download the spďns and whatnot from there.
(EDIT: Lastly, back in 2001, he was working on revamping his Atinoda graphics for EV-Nova. You can see his preliminary results on the Wayback machine here: http://web.archive.org/web/20020202121321/...e.com/news.html )
