If you haven't already gathered, I'm not having all that much time to work on this, as college starts tomorrow and I've had a long work schedule the past couple of weeks.
I am taking the next VB .NET class, so hopefully I can make this app better. I've noticed that startup is long enough (at least on my comp) to warrant a splash screen, if just to tell the user it is indeed, loading.
However, the subject of this class is databases. So an application similar to Cartographer might be off topic. But I'll still be learning new things, and that means new ideas.
If/when I get some free time, I'm going to refine the interface. Actually, I already have, except I did it in a copy I was using to add spob editing to. This was what got interrupted, so I'm real glad I made a copy. I'll still post any updates in this topic.

The .NET Framework update is easy to miss. Especially since I should have mentioned it in the Installation section of the readme, instead of in Notes. I'm changing that now.

The system thing is to big. it cover's up were the zoom button's should be, I have a friend who has it.

I didn't change the readme any, I'm short on time.
I just moved the layout changes from the copy into the release version. It should now be impossible for zoom to be covered by the system list. What is possible is for the system list to just collapse into nothing.

.NET is the newest version of the language. I know it's different enough to throw off VB programmers, but I've never seen enough VB to make a comparison.

I do know that a .NET html browser is possible (and is part of a class project). Also, according to the prof, .NET is the easiest language to access databases with. Also, the differences between .NET 2002 and .NET 2003 are significant enough to make a project in 2003 unopenable in 2002.
As for ASP, Visual Studio .NET 2003 came with the J# language, and the project templates include ASP .NET Web Applications, ASP .NET Web Services and ASP .NET Mobile Web Applications. Couldn't tell you what they mean though. I've only programmed in the VB .NET portion, and opened a C++ project to load the EVNEW source so I could look at it.
The server that hosts my professor's website is having problems, making it impossible to load any pages beyond the index. Actually, IE doesn't even get the index, though firefox may have it cashed on my HD. So my main source of comparison is offline for the moment, as it has class projects for both .NET and VB 6 thet look like they should do the same things.
