I will take a look at the coding and see if there is any reason why you should not get in after Princess Cayley. I don't think so, but usually the hilt is picked up on the same trip that you would deliver Jimmy's present (which is before the third princess.) I will post back in a little while with the research done. ~RD

Jimmy's present, and the invitation to get into Ratznest's closet do come after the third princess (you were right there) and I checked for any reason that the trap door would not set correctly. I find nothing which would keep this from working.

I fired up a game and went through Troll Central several times. First chosing the "I think I'll come back later" response - the trap door is operative. Second, "Yes I'll take on his guards" - I walked in with no problem. But on the second trip I picked up everything except the hilt. On the third trip in I had to contend with the guards again (as expected) and the hilt (and nothing else) was waiting for me. So everything works as it should.

If you are using the later version of DiD - v1.1 and not v1.0.1 (a version history was included with the download) and are selecting the response that says basically, "I want to get into the closet," then you should not fall through the trap door until you are on the way out. If you go partly in and then run back because of the brutes, you may indeed be catching the trap after it resets. Sorry, but no glitch has been found. ~RD

It appears that even though I only downloaded Damsils last week I somehow ended up with version 1.0.2 not 1.1. I will see if this makes a difference tonight. Thanks for your trouble.

Huh? There never was a version 1.0.2.

From the DiD v 1.1 version history document:
**Version 1.0 Released 6/30/03

Version 1.0.1 Released 7/3/03 Fixed a minor problem which allowed the acquisition of items before the action of the plugin had started.

Version 1.1 Released 7/13/03 Two bugs prevented the completion of quests if a player left the area before the quest was completed. These have been corrected and also allow a player to postpone the quest if he/she does not want to take them on until later.**

Also, there is version 1.1.1 (the LabRat version) which fixes a bug that if you talked to the hag with a certain combination of Blade of Diabolus parts, she wouldn't tell you the other pieces were.
